Wow, the first thing I thought of when I saw this was the "Biosensor" that attached to your ear and was only released in Japan for one game on the N64.
I wonder how they will use this...
I'm not buying it....
what purpose could this serve? Nintendo, ENOUGH DUMB PERIPHERALS
YES YES YES
Love it. I've mentioned several ideas, as examples:
-Red Steel 2 (control of weapon becomes harder as you get frantic)
- "Crank" like game where keeping heart rate up is crucial
-Trauma Center...much like Red Steel 2 idea....but more important with surgery
etc. etc.
TONS OF POTENTIAL
Yes, but they chose a bad place to put the sensor. The reason why they put it on the ear for the N64 version was so you could have both hands to control the game. Sure, it's just the tip, but what do you hit a button with?

A: "I think it's a very unique device and I've been interested in it for quite awhile." Interfaces interest Miyamoto.
"Unique". If I heard that word from Nintendo before, it's that it means "Anyone with a brain can stay away from this."
When I first saw the Vitality Sensor, I almost cried. The reason I didn't actually cry was because I couldn't decide why I would cry: because this is so hilariously stupid, or because Nintendo has finally lost their minds. Of course, I forgot all about that when they showed Metroid Other M, but nonetheless...
I think this thing does have potential (albeit small) to be in a real game, but I probably wouldn't get it anyway; I can't think of any game this would be in that I would like, as I'm not into horror or medical games.
