Title: Favorite cheesy sci-fi movie?
Post by: Nayrman on June 03, 2009, 06:31:22 PM
Finished watching the original The Day the Earth Stood Still, and have to say I really enjoyed it.
Now, I'm using that movie for my Film History class (and how it accurately reflected people's fears and opinions during early 1950's America) **It's also interesting that if you read between the lines there is a bit of anti-american sentiment in there.**

I've seen a few of those "cheesy sci-fi" movies before, but that was probably my favorite so far (since it practically wrote the book on sci-fi movies of the time). Metropolis was certainly good, if a bit hard to follow. Invasion of the Saucer People also had good stop motion for it's time.

Anyone else see any good cheesy sci-fi movies?

I really like all those cheesy old movies and TV shows, I just absolutely love the heart that goes into them. :)

Check out Chiller TV if you have it.
