QuoteBack when the Nintendo Wii launched in 2006, the company showed possible console colors: White, red, silver, lime green and black. White was the launch color, and that's all customers have had. Until now.
Today, Nintendo announced that it will be launching a black-colored Wii in Japan on August 1 for ¥25,000 (US$260). Besides the console, Nintendo will be selling black Wii peripherals as well. They are priced as follows:
• Black Wii Remote ¥3,800 (US$40)
• Black Nunchaku ¥1,800 (US$19)
• Black Classic Controller Pro ¥2,000 (US$21)
The white colored Wii went on sale on December 2 in Japan when the platform initially launched.

Looks pretty cool. I doubt I'd get it, but it looks good.
if there was anyway to transfer all my data to the Black Wii, i'd buy it...
Goddarn you Japan, and your exclusives! >=(
I would buy that, though. My Wii is actually starting to show signs of dying. Only if there was a way to transfer everything from my Wii to that one.
That looks fantastic. But I still want a red one D:
um... goody?
I admit I wish there was a black one at launch.

I know. It seems a little late.
I hate when they release new colors so late. I would have preferred the black one at launch, but all they had was white, and so now they're insulting us by saying "Hey, pay ANOTHER $250 and sacrifice some of your memory, and we'll give you a paint job!" Seriously, why does this stuff take so long? Did they not have the freaking technology required to make it black?!!?!
I need that classical controller.

I have to agree here too. I'm not going to buy the system again, I've already got 4 Wii-motes, and I doubt I'll need more Classic Controllers or Nunchucks.
Do want that classic controller. :3
And, things like colors are why I waited to get any additional Wii controllers.
Hey guys
They have these things called skins

Not as good, though. You need to take it off every time you want to change the Wiimote's batteries, it has a different feel, it doesn't look natural (cause it's not; it's a skin). Much better to just get flat out different colors than skins. Of course, I don't want to pay for skins OR a whole new set of remotes, so whatever.
I agree with you guys on the point of why buying a brand new wii just because of a different color.
I mean, I can agree that on Launch they just release White..but did they have to wait this long?
How about 2 colors a year? sheesh.
It's like......... buying a brand new car that only came in 1 color that you really didn't care about.
Then years later, THAT same exact car comes in just 1 other Color, and is Offered to you as the same price as you paid your 1st car.
I can't speak for Americans let alone those who play video game ones, but "WE aren't STUPID!".
Horrid thing is, when it IS released in black here, it'll sell well...probably around This Years Holiday Season....so lame.
