I just got some money from nowhere, and a PSP seems interesting. Is it a good investment? What good games does it have, and do they have good online?
Also, I'm not waiting for a PSP Go, because it looks pretty bad to be honest.
It really depends. It has some good downloads I hear. Also, it uses memory sticks, which means essentially you can get all your games for free assuming you know how to do that sort of thing.
It's excellent for homebrew, especially emulators and ROMs.
For actual games...eh.
DJ MAX Fever is wonderful.
But yeah, most of it's capability is in being hacked with custom firmware.
Got one when they first came out, sold it six months later after the lack of games. I've been tempted to re-buy it, but since I sold it, only a few games have interested me.
Wait until that new PSP comes out, only because I assume the price of the old PSP will drop. Get the old one if you don't want the new one (I might just get the new one if I get a job...)
If I bought one, it would just be for Birth By Sleep... which for me would actually be a good reason. The only reason I bought a PS2 was for KH1&2 (and now Re:CoM).
Hacked custom firmware is probably the best thing ever

Yeah, the PSP go they just took off an analog stick and ripped you off another hundred dollars, i'm not sure if they are going to make regular PSP after it comes out though.

The PSP Go still has an "analog" stick.
The PSP go is a HUGE Rip off. Seriously, they remove the UMD slot, make the screen 25% smaller and overcharge for it.
The PSP is a great media player and it has some fun games. Great for videos and movies...I need to pick another one up.
If you're gonna hack it, then yes.
If not, I wouldn't get one.
I currently have two (One was @ release, other was one I got for like 80$?) and I must say that even If you're not just getting it to firmware games; It's worth it If you can get it cheap.
One's gonna be firmwared, other isn't (other one that was new and all was already too late to firmware, and not like I need two firmwared.
