I found Nsider by browsing Google for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon hints, and came across it in late July of 2007.
Through Nintendo Power. I was curious as to how to where they got some of the things they had in the magazine.
I thought you had to sign up to submit stuff to NP.
I had just gotten a new computer and needed something to do during spring break '07, plus my new issue of NP came that same day, so i decided to sign up.
The really really old Smash Bros website (the one that wasn't updated daily). It had a link to Oldsider.....so then I joined. After Oldsider was killed I found my way to other forums, including this one.
I was a MyNintendo member for a year, then I decided to go into the forums.
I made a good decision.
Like other manic Super Smash Bros. Fan's, when I heard about SSBB, I wanted more info about it, plus I wanted to meet/talk to people who also felt my excitement for this game.
I came across Nsider's Smash Board.
once I read just a few topics of how excited the N-Siders there were, I decided to join. My very 1st post was on the Smash Board.
*extra notes:
Once I got the hang of how things ran there, I browsed other parts of the forum.....eventually finding and understanding the Rank System.
I got fascinated and jealous of those higher then me, so I posted a lot and became plumber before anybody else did within that time period. It was awesome, but probably my most Nerdy/geekiest thing that I did in my life on the Internet.
But who am I kidding, I'd do it again.
Wiz's legion lol
Magnum told me about it
Allegretto told me about it

I signed up because I wanted the Legend of Zelda: Collector's Disc.
Then I saw community and clicked on the link. The rest is history.

YOU was mad?!
Took me 23 hours to do Those symbols and every bodies "screen name" perfectly.
The best part from what I can remember, was me being cocky, then me ranking up to "Smash Master" on the Smash board...the Only smash master.
I got a lot of people mad at me then.
heheheheh
Saw the "Community" tab on Nintendo's website one day. But I was too scared to click it, since my parents instilled "DON'T TAWK TO STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET THEY ARE BAD AND WILL HURT YOU" into my head. D:
One day I finally clicked, and...well, here I am.
I found Nintendo.com through the Pokemon Diamond manual/booklet as I was looking for information because I was stuck, and so I registered at Nintendo.com. Though I didn't find the community until about a few days to a week later.
I wanted tips on MKDS, and I went there.
Only problem is I actually assed myself to send the form in to Nintendo (I was like 10, and I never lied about my age) and wait 2 weeks D=

Not crowded, what.
Threads hitting page 2 in a minute isn't crowded. :P
I signed up for MyNintendo and then I just randomly found the fourms after a while.

Okay, evidently you didn't look aorund enough before joining...
March 3rd, 2007.
I was trying to find the origin of Master Hand. I then found oldsider. However, I didn't sign up until I found the "Character suggestion Thread." I've had a blast with it until it was closed. :(
I found it through a link on the old Smash Dojo.
I lurked a long time in the forums before I actually joined.

dear God.......that thread was a disaster.
Wow, it seems like I was on NSider before most of you. I started on the forums in mid 2006. Although I had signed up for My Nintendo in 2004, I didn't know what the forums were until around 2006, but I was scared because I was only 12 years old and didn't know what would happen if I joined. So I browsed for a while, and one day I found something and just impulsively tried to reply to it. It didn't work because I needed to sign up, so I did.
I wanted to register my consoles and games to get free wallpapers or something like that and saw forums bingo
I don't want to say too much, but through my brother I guess....I don't know how to say it without going into too much detail...
Nintendo Power community page in 2004. I thought it sounded interesting, but I waited until after my birthday to register because I actually thought I had to take COPPA seriously. Ah well.
I never thought COPPA was an extremely big deal. I was even too lazy to fill out the form. As long as you can handle a 13+ site with at least and ounce of maturity, then you should be able to register. However, if it's your first forum, you probably won't have an ounce of maturity to begin with. Or at least in my case. :P
I thought you had to sign up to get stuff for the Animal Crossing: Wild World downloadable content. I found NSider, left because I was a Goomba, saw that you could become a sage, ran back to it. Really stupid looking back on it. :|
Joined the forums in June 2004 out of curiosity and to brag about how good my gaming skills were 'cause I was a stupid intercourse ing 14 year old.
I started off bad.
Star got me here after Oldsider crashed.

No no no, the thread maker wants to know how you found Old Sider in the 1st place, not finding this place after it closed. :P
For whatever reason, on Christmas Eve of 2005 (wow), I registered my Mario Kart DS, or something. I guess I wanted to play online. After finding out you couldn't share friend codes on Nsider, I was mad and then found a link to the original Friend Code Database (nostalgia bomb...). It remains my only real niche in the forum world. I shall continue to follow it faithfully.
And yeah, I also posted on Oldsider 2 times.
Why didn't you just do what most people did and share FC's through PM's?
Neeentendo Powah.

I dunno. I really had no experience with forums until then. Plus, I hated Oldsider cuz it was too crowded, and I couldn't make my own avatar, and I just wouldn't have wanted to use the forum anyway.
The size/operation of all the FCDs has been perfect for me.
