Yes, the rumor going around is that Natal will launch next Fall on both the Xbox 360 and an as-yet-unnamed system designed around the control scheme itself.

It wouldn't be a new system, just an upgrade on the Xbox 360 hardware. Pretty bad move on Microsoft's part, the 360 tech will look pretty dated, no matter how much you dress it up. Would be the equivalent of if Nintendo had a slightly updated version of the GCN in Fall 2005.

That's kind of sad. It's a DSi like update...but unfortunately, the 360 just doesn't have the install base for that. I feel it's a really bad move.

So we're going through the Sega CD and 32X era for the Xbox.... joy.

Yea, updated version is a BAD idea at this point. Not a big enough installed base, and making a newer system revolve around a new peripheral is never a good idea.

Despite what I think of the Natal, and how awesome it could be, I think Natal will end up being the least used of the three motion controllers.
