I thought of an idea for a somewhat stage change, it just came to me when I was looking at the moon.
Maybe while in battle, instead of random thing either falling from the sky, or the background falling on you, how about stage props? An example, instead of the moon being in the background, it is over your head hanging by wires, each strong attack (like quake hammer, or Power smash) will make it looser, and eventually fall on your head. And of course it wouldn't just be a moon falling, but that's just what came to me.
IDK, it's just something I thought of and felt like sharing.
So who else besides me wants another Paper Mario in RPG form?

LOL !! :D
To add to your idea Jr. Dude... they could have stars over head with strings as well....and every major impact would loosen those strings and they could fall on people below...it could even have the affect to paralyze :O
I could think of tons of ideas of what they could of done during battles fights from Paper Mario 2 (gawed, I miss that game...need to play it again soon).
I swear, I hope they make another paper mario game.
NOT like Super Paper Mario really......... Just go back to the basics IMO.
Also, somehow...make it multiplayer/Online. :P

We have Super Luigi in several volumes. :P
Do you mean as in Paper Mario 2, whereas the entire background falls on you, bits and pieces fall at a time, depending on your attacks and how securely they're fastened? It'd be interesting. I could see it happening.
Well it would technically be Paper Mario 4 o.o
And I mean instead of the background, it's just hanging props.
I also JUST NOW got the idea that some of the stages can have different effects. Like maybe you're in Bowser's Castle, and a Shy guy in all black (except the mask) picks up a fire thing that hops out of the pits and hits Mario with it (you know, kinda like a real stage play)

I gotcha now. And it would work, but the shy guy idea seems a bit annoying really unless you could counter it. You're playing and suddenly you get hit by a huge cheap shot from a random shy guy. nty
All these ideas are good......... I just wish we had the ability to make our own paper Mario Game and add these kind of affects.
Though over all, I highly doubt Nintendo would go BACK to the antics of Paper Mario 2, just for the next paper Mario.
They'd want to try to do something different, meh.
Just make it back into a True RPG PLEASE.

Oh come on, Think a moment. If that were the case then they'd Keep Paper Mario 2 the same as the first one.

I'm trying to think logical and what they are more then likely do.

Super Paper Mario was only
Paper Mario because they were too lazy to think of a different style for that kind of story (and it was made by the same people). I mean, imagine, regular Mario just going left and right and then flip around to do more or whatever, Paper just seems to fit there for some reason.
And I think they may go back because, look at Mario Galaxy 2, so far it looks almost exactly the same as MG1 (aside from a few new things, which is natural).

I'm not saying they Won't go back to Mario just being Paper. I'm talking about the same/similar lay out of Paper Mario 2. Such as Stage props and scenarios.
I DO hope they go back to what makes Paper Mario, PAPER.

But they never used stage props... They used forks, lights, bugs, sparks, water, ice, fire, and giant rocks (and maybe more, but that's all I can think of), all that came out of nowhere. They also used the background picture things, everything else was the audience, and that wasn't much (items, rarely badges, coins, hearts [HP], flowers [FP], rocks, and hammers).
So it has a chance.
