Title: Lord of the rings vs. Harry Potter

This can be based on either the books, or the movies.
So which one do you like more?

I personally Love LotR.
Both the books and movies were amazing.

Lord of the Rings.
Seriously, it's not even a contest. LOTR is just better.

Books is Harry Potter. Movies is LOTR. The LOTR books are just boring.

LotR obliterates Harry Potter in both books and movies, but especially in the books.

Never read the LOTR books. But as far as movies, HP. LOTR is a borefest. HP are kick ass, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are better.

No, HP beats LoTR in Movies. Books, it's a tie for me .-.

Book wise I think LotR is better - but overdrawn. The movies cross the overdrawn realm and go into something of a whole new breed. As such, Potter takes the win movie wise. And note, I think Harry Potter has a flair in the books that is unmatched...but LotR has proven to be timeless. If HP can stick around as long as LotR, then it'll take top spot.

LOTR bores me really. The books were alright, but Harry Potter has just something fun about it, great books.  The movies are good too. So I'll go with Harry Potter here.

everyone who voted Harry Potter needs to go get a lobotomy since you clearly never use your brain anyways.

Agreed.

I can't see why it would bore anyone.
I could imagine the books maybe, but the movie is full of action.
especially the 2nd and 3rd ones.

For once we agree on something!?
The only chapter in the LOTR books that was legitimately boring was Council Of Elrond. 50 pages of "should we destroy it?" "We should destroy it!" "Who is going to go?" "We are going to go!"

it's the only legitimate complaint of the books in terms of writing. My god it's just fifty pages of something that can easily be completed in half the count. I mean seriously, that scene takes up about five minutes in the movie X_X;;
But then again I'll never forgive Jackson for taking out Tom Bombadil... even if it was inherently pointless to the completion of the plot in terms of the entire thing.

I can't accurately vote, as I've never read any of the Lord of the Rings series and I'm still finishing the last of the Harry Potter series, but so far, it's a tie with the movies... "er..." (Harry Potter reference if you couldn't tell) I'd have to go with Harry Potter, but only because the movies are just that good. In fact, the ABC Family channel just had some marathons of the movies and I nearly watched the whole thing (from near the beginning of Chamber of Secrets to the end of The Goblet of Fire). The Lord of the Rings movies are very good, but are a bit long and a bit slow-paced at some parts. I just couldn't do the same with a marathon of those. I haven't seen the third Lord of the Rings movie though, so again, it's not the best comparison. I didn't vote anyway.  :-\

Ah. I like action scenes. If it's better than the long one in The Two Towers it should be good. By the way, I just found my awesome four disc collector's edition whatever set of The Two Towers. I don't have the first one though? Odd. I thought I did. Well, I might just have to look into the third one nonetheless.

I say, LotR did better as both the books and movies.

And even beyond that, there was the Hobbit, the Simirilion, etc. And all were good (apparently.)

So deffinitly LotR.
