Title: Temple Theme
Post by: bluaki on July 27, 2009, 05:47:31 PM
Is now selectable to normal users.

It's inspired by Nsider4000, which in turn was inspired by Nsider's Lunimoth Temple. But entirely built from scratch (well, from the Core theme) for SMF 2.0 by me.
As of now, it's almost exactly like Nsider4000 was, with a few changes like increased width. And a few unfinished details like board icons and preview image.

I personally like it because it's an extremely lightweight/simple theme for browsers to render, with no fancy unnecessary image textures everywhere. And I like the color.

After I finish up a few things, I might make an orange variation like Nsider5000. And maybe other themes based on it with just simple recoloring.

If anybody uses it, post any suggestions here.

And now my to-do list here is reduced to:
Project Enterprise
Mario theme (which I've put off for a long time, and in the end probably will not be SMB3 Airship-based)
Whatever else I think up

Looks great, Blu. A bit dark for my tastes, but those that enjoy dark skins should definitely give it a try.

If you add widescreen support I will love you forever.

Well, as a bit of a half-way point for that, I changed the theme just now so that, for anybody using 1280 or lower width, the skin will still be 830px wide, but anybody with a higher resolution will have it stretch up to 65% of their screen width.

I kinda like having it be thin like this D:

I really hate thin skins. There's so much screen space wasted, and it sucks for long posts.

If new babylon was easier to read, it'd be perfect.

It is nice and light, so I'm glad. My biggest issue is the "Jump to:" being on the far left, and out of place with the moderation icons. I'd like to see the alignment fixed, and the buttons uniform.

Thanks blu, you're awesome. <3

Why is it so hard to make themes stretch to like 90 or 95%? Dun forget the 1080p users....

Wait, am I the only one here that uses 1080p?

You probably are, yes.

And some people actually like thin themes :(
It should be stretched to 65% for you, by the way. It isn't an entirely static width.

65% still leaves quite a bit wasted, though.

Ooooooo, it's Water Icy or something. :P

Not a big deal, but the only thing I can think of is making the Font a bit bigger.
This is switching from one skin to another... everything just seems a bit smaller.
But that might be this skins charm I suppose.

65% is the same amount of your screen it should take up too.
the minimum width is 830 pixels, it stretches up to 65% if the screen is larger. 65% of a 1280 width screen is exactly 830 pixels (well, it'd actually be less than 830, because of the scroll bar I guess).

Yeah, some of the fonts are a tad small for my taste. I'm looking at you child boards.

But 1080p is HD, and ajdklfhsoru302urfsdf.
"The meaning of 1080p as a display resolution is not correct because in fact 1920x1200/1920x1080 displays may or may not be able to display 1080p (Full HD) video."

Custom actions mod is outdated. So without massive coding struggles, they wouldn't be able to add tabs like that as easily.

Try the Temple - Orange.

It's an orange link variation with some minor other tweaks.
