I say it's time we start discussing what our next theme is.
For those of you unaware as to what we call themes - other than skins - it is the name of the Forum Games Board, the Board Categories, Staff Board, Highest Post Count rank, and all of the Staff Ranks. We also usually do some other relevant things.
As such, we should consider our next one. Last time, I recall two choices standing out:
-House
-Mafia
I also would like to say a Metroid theme would be pretty badass, what with Trilogy coming out soon, and how intercourse ing awesome Other M looks. Pok?mon is another one I'd be fond of, but that's just me. House...is an obvious yes for me, because the show rules...but it makes more sense doing it while the show is airing. And Mafia just sounds plain fun.
Any ideas you have?

And so I won't get flamed out, Metroid is sounding really good. Plenty of small stuff for ranks, names for each board and such. I think it's the best of what you listed AND just a great choice.

Mafia. I also demand every user gets a few guns.
the metroid 3pack will be worthless imo. full of glitch and bugfixes, removal of sequence breaking. Any core metroid fan would just go get the originals. The only thing you get in return is the wii controls and leaderboards that will be spammed with times of "0:59" and "1:02", which are impossible to achieve, even on the NTSC copy. Frankly, i'd rather use a gamecube controller anyways.

I strongly oppose the ideas of House and Mafia.
We might want to stray a bit away from Nintendo-only as a Nsider spinoff, yes, but we don't want to completely abandon the idea of focusing mainly on video games. And so we should keep all our themes video game related.
Metroid sounds very badass.

Yeah, which is why I threw Metroid out there. Board/Category wise there are a ton of ideas...but I'm a tad lost for unique staff ranks. Top Hunter for Admin?

I like Pokemon or Final Fantasy, but the former would be a huge repellent to some of our members.
If it is Pokemon, I say we name each section of the forums after a region, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh.
Ranks should be based on characters/trainers. The mods would be Frontier Brains / Elite Four.

Actually that'll be changing. I can't elaborate on how (well, I could because it wouldn't really be a leak if I'm not staff) but eh. Still, only highest post count rank gets the new one.
Let's go TF2... and gamer slang e.i. Ban of S.D. would be noob rank, Admins would be ?ber Heavys, etc. etc. etc.

Originally, we had Plumber/Hero of Time. Then it was replaced with Pirate. Now it's Giant Goomba. The highest rank is the only one changing.

Nope. There will be a change to make it more user oriented, but still only the highest post based one will change.

Touhou has one of the most well-written and extensive plots ever conceived for a game series. It's not as superficial as "shmup + anime". Castle of Shikigami III would also fall under that, but it's nowhere on the level of Touhou. Touhou is its own thing, its own legendary level of awesome.
Consider it, if only because Touhou fans will probably tear haters' guts out using their spellcard.
I like the idea of Pokemon. Plenty of things to use there as well for names. Katamari would be amazing as well.
I'd agree with Pokemon personally.
Tons of possible names there. Among them I can think of Missingno. (which we actually already use), Professor Oak, Giovanni (for head admin?), Rocket Grunt (for moderator?), Gym Leader, and a variety of pokemon species' names.
Smash could work too, but I like Pokemon better <3

k guys, my two nominations seem to be pretty strong. Both Pok?mon and Metroid.
So, right now we are running with four choices:
-Pok?mon (Team Rocket)
-Pok?mon (E4, Leaders, etc.)
-Metroid (Hunters, Ranks, etc)
-Metroid (Space Pirates)
Pokemon Team Rocket without a doubt
I'm content with either Pokemon, though I prefer Champion=Admin, Elite Four=Sr. Mods and Gym Leader=Mod.
Zelda. Different mods can be different Heroes, like Hero of Time or Hero of Winds, there could also be stuff for the Triforce, like Tri of Power, Courage, and Wisdom, some more ranks can be Vaati or Ganon or something like that. Also the boards can be stuff like Hyrule Castle, Hyrule Field, Great Sea, Twilight Realm, etc.
The Triforce would be perfect for mods!
Lower Mods = Triforce of Wisdom: Very smart and powerful, but always outdone by the Triforce of Power.
Higher Mods = Triforce of Power: Power abusers, probably smartest of the Triforce, is always somehow outdone by the Triforce of Courage.
Silver Admins = Triforce of Courage: The one who looks and acts useless, but can easily defeat the Triforce of Power and save the Triforce of Wisdom. Often breaks things pots.
