I'm really hoping my game is glitched, because otherwise this sucks ass. I was playing Ocarina of Time on the VC, and I got to the part in the Water Temple where you fight Dark Link. Well, I haven't played this game in quite a few years, so I can't remember if this is what is supposed to happen... But anyway, I lock onto him and whenever I try the forward sword slash, my character freezes and Dark Link gets a free shot at me. Lucky him. So, what the intercourse ? I pretty much can't win. I try not using that move, but sometimes my finger slips and I end up freezing on my forward slash for a few seconds, and Dark Link slashes me and oh, there goes another heart.
Every time I hit him, he disappears and reappears behind me (although I don't think this is part of the glitch), and all other attacks besides Din's Fire, my sword, and Megaton Hammer are impervious to him (once again, I think this is normal). I'm guessing it's because he is the CPU, but his attacks hit way more than mine, even when we are both slashing each other at the same time with our swords, using the same moves.
To make a long story short, forward slashes cause my Link to freeze in mid-swing for a few seconds, and Dark Link gets a free shot (although, thankfully, he usually uses this time to do some aerobatic tricks). So, what the intercourse ? Is this normal? If it is, intercourse Ocarina of Time, I'm done. If not, is there anyway to un-glitch my game, or am I screwed?
From what I've experienced, if you try to thrust, he jumps onto your sword for two seconds(ish) and you can't do anything about it until he jumps off. So yeah, it's not a glitch. All of it is just part of Dark Link's cheap ass tactics.
Also, using Din's Fire and the Megaton Hammer is the easiest way to beat him.

Fuck. Shouldn't stepping on my sword hurt him >.> ? Well, I beat him when I was little, so I better be able to still do it now. And yeah, I think I'll probably be spamming Din's Fire. Thanks for the help!
Yeah, you can't use your sword if you're targeting.
