Day 1 of AWA was pretty good. Some friends and I got there about noon-ish. I got Ed Elric's red jacket, which was both nice, cool, and comfortable. I was going to get his shirt (cosplaying for Holloween/Momocon/other cons), but they only take cash so I didn't have the available funds (getting tomorrow). The rest of the outfit is easy enough to do on my own (just need some "dark" *why does b-l-a-c-k turn to N-I-G-G-E-R?* pants/boots and gloves really).
Saw Catie Glass' panel. She was Winry in FMA, Haruhi in Ouran, and many other roles. It's surprising how energetic she really is. She was fun to listen to. Although the real show was next as the panel for Vic Mignona (Ed Elric, Dark, Broly, among MANY other voices... such as Death Scythe in the Soul Eater dub!). He was really funny and preppy. I like how he constantly walked around to talk to everyone during it. Some chick who saw him at Dragon-Con (a convention three weeks prior to this one) actually hand made and brought a Dark (D.N. Angel) costume that fits Vic, and he wore it for the rest of the panel. It was quite funny and awesome at the same time.
Saw some Funimation sneak peaks, such as Sgt.Frog english dub (Piccolo as a tiny red frog hell bent on taking over the world? HELLZ YES!), Spice and Wolf english dub (Horo's voice is... meh), Rin, and Glassbreak and some other things.
After that, not much for the next few hours. I saw a traditional Japanese drum group, which was interesting. After that was TOTALLY LAME ANIME. Poorly dubbed, insanely bad clips of terrible shows. We saw: BLARG DOG (a dog that can rip the roof off a train), XERXES TIRE-IRON DADA (no, that's the villains REAL name, serious), Frankenstein and Dr. Frankenstein both committing suicide in front of a little girl, and the worst robot transformations ever (one involves a monorail ejecting into a care ejecting into a boat into a big rig and then all forming the giant robot). Anime hell was next that lasted a good three hours or so, and it's just random funny clips... such as a KISS looking dude "raping" the Tokyo Tower, and then it raining and everyone saying how the Tokyo Tower is such a whore. Oh god the laughs that ensued.
Tomorrow I'm planning to get Ed Erlic's shirt for cosplay purposes. Also, going to see Evangelion 1.0 before the DVD is released in America two months early. Woot!
