Kotoku reveals the official showing of Nintendo's Super Guide, a.k.a. that thing that plays the game for you. I was very intrigued to see what Kotoku had to show us about this mode.
Cliff Notes:
- must lose 8 lives to the current level to unlock for that level
- straight run. No picking up bonuses, shortcuts, etc.
- counts for completion of levels
- can jump back in at any time
I think that's a fair rule set given the fact that the game can basically beat itself for you. However, I'm still giving the condition that the game MUST be more difficult for the older/more skilled gamers to actually be worthwhile. Luckily Kotaku reports that the NSMBWii is going to be more difficult than the DS game. All I can say to that is thank god that game was painfully easy. How much more difficult obviously hasn't been seen. Difficult meaning giving the kiddies are hard time? Or actually giving me and my pals who've played Mario for near 18 years a decent challenge?
I guess we'll see later.
at least it's not a freebie, I kinda wish I had something like this as a kid

we had more determination and pride back in the day kiddo.
*insert vagina-y joke here*
I still have to say "Seriously, games are easy enough as it is" here. But then again, I feel somewhat old to some gamers nowadays.
I'm just gonna go breeze through Mario 3 and Lost Levels again. Imagine having THOSE games as kids. lol

I did have those games as a kid
I think 8 because the base lives is 5 and they want to force a continue or something.
U actually beat Lost Levels?
After reading the comments, the Kotaku goers seem to be optimistic about how hard this game will be. I'm hoping they're right.

by "last level" do you mean:
8-4, 9-4, or D-4?

I think 8-4, I played it years ago I don't really remember

World 9 is just insane. Not because it's hard (ironically it's probably one of the easier worlds), but its two water levels with pirhana plants, lakitu's and flag poles. It's really funny and weird. Also, Bowser is the only enemy in level 3.
ib4 it's insanely easy and only grandmas have to use the Super Guide.
