Title: Guitar Hero 5 Opinions
Post by: RX-78-2 on October 27, 2009, 07:40:37 AM
All you noobs have had over a month to get the game and think about what you think about it. :) Post your opinion about Guitar Hero 5. Ratings are optional. [There's a reason I made a separate The Beatles: Rock Band thread. And yes, I know this is the same thing as the other thread.]

My opinion is that it's easily the best in every way except on-disc songs. Nearly everything (if not everything) was fixed (as in improved) concerning gameplay mechanics and all that. The graphics were improved very much as were the animations. All the new features are good too. However, the songs are just random; "we [the developers] think this song is good for band play" or "our 12 year old audience needs to be exposed to this genre" or "we want a little a bit of everything". So, I guess... 9.5 out of 10.

Exactly how I feel, nearly perfect in every way, except for the songs.  And since the entire game is about music, the atrocious setlist ruins the entire experince for me.  Yeah it has a good interface, yeah it has some cool new features, but I don't enjoy music games without good music.

Guitar Hero 5 sucks.

The interface is ugly and annoying. The graphics are too colorful and poopty looking. The songs suck dick and are also charted terribly.

Fuck it.

Interface was not fixed. Other than that it's the same as WT, Metallica, and Smash Hits.

Not impressed. Not buying. A rent was barely worth it.

intercourse  it.
They just made the graphics for the interface look like that in an effort to make it more modern and "fresh". I agree; it could've been done better. However, the characters and venues look great. It's really well designed and the characters are animated very well.

What do you mean by interface? If it's what I think it is, then I think they fixed it. I think the new features are very much worth it, rather than the songs or interface. With streaming songs and more DLC, GH5 isn't that bad at all.

I haven't had a chance to pick it up, but...I sure hope it's an improvement over GHWT. The setlist in that was about a 5/10, so it's kind of hard to not be better.
