Title: Hayao Miyazaki -- recommendations?
Post by: Lotos on November 01, 2009, 07:02:19 PM
Can anyone recommend me any good Miyazaki films?  I have $110 and feel like buying a movie or two from Best Buy.  I currently have Spirited Away.  Do the DVDs come with the original audio with subs as an bonus feature?  I know Spirited Away has that.

Princess Mononoke, DUH.
If they have any of his early Lupin III films, those are awesome.
Howl's Moving Castle if you've got nothing else to buy...

Ah, no one said Nausicaa or Laputa.

Though, as most of these guys said already, Princess Mononoke is a good choose. After that I would go for Nausicaa, just because it looks purely great. Parts of the movie were just made for eye-candy.

Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle would be my top two choices (other than Spirited Away), but if it comes out on DVD any time soon, I'd also recommend Ponyo.
