According to Reggie on GameTrailers TV, there is no plan to release the next console Zelda next year.
This is hardly a surprise as any console Zelda is required to take four years of development, delayed multiple times, and get pushed to the point where fans just don't care anymore.
I fully expect Zelda: The Next Ocarina Copy to be released at launch day for the Wii 2: We have a harddrive now! for spring 2013
He said "we haven't committed to that" he never said it wasn't gunna happen.
And Zelda Wii will stay Zelda Wii. It won't get pushed back to the next console. That would make the Wii the first Nintendo console without its own Zelda game.
That said it'll probably be 2011 at the soonest.

"We Haven't Committed" means "It's not next year". Come on now...
Hey, remember when Twilight Princess had it's first showing in 2004 and Nintendo was like, it's a game built up for the Cube and how it was coming soon for the CUBE and all the early demos were on the CUBE and then it got pushed to the Wii... X_X;;

Yes I remember how TP was pushed back but the Gamecube also had Wind Waker. The Wii doesn't have it's own Zelda game yet and I don't think Nintendo would let a console go Zelda-less (They haven't before anyway).
And it has supposedly been in development from late 2005 or early 2006 (or so I keep hearing)
I wasn't expecting it until 2011, actually. I just hope we aren't totally Zelda-free next year.

I flung my Nunchuk out the window after reading that.

eh.
I can wait.
It just means more time for development.
Good for the waiting. Think about it, we don't want another rushed game, do we?

So we'll be waiting for ten years then?

That's an over-thought-out game, which doesn't seem to be they style of any Video Game company.

Duke Nukem Forever.
Knowing Nintendo it'll still feel rushed. Every Zelda game since the end of the N64 games has felt that way...

Wind Waker is just OoT with boat sailing instead of horse riding, and we all know TP is a blatant OoT clone...

Every game on the same series is just the same game with minor differences.
I don't see him pointing at Mega Man or Mario.

Everyone else says it, he's too busy complaining about Sonic mainly.

Dude, I have LONG since complained about Mario being nothing but the same. It's pretty much why I think Galaxy is by far the worst 3D Mario game since it does pretty much nothing new (gravity platforming? Seriously? Sonic and Knuckles - 1994 thank you very much).

I didn't know wolf Link and midna were in OoT....

Navi with a personality and pointless fetch quests
I can agree that for the most part TP was an OoT clone (I don't think that's a bad thing. I mean the dungeons were different and so was the over world)
But it's not totally an OoT clone. There was no character even close to Zant in OoT.
I thought Galaxy was great, but to each their own.
As for Zelda, I was kinda expected a late 2010 or 2011 release. Guess we'll have to see what happens.

How about something like Majora's Mask were it's something completely different from what all the other games do... instead of replacing item A for similar item B.
I can agree about Zelda being copy gimicks of Oot.
But How in the world can they Top such a perfect formula?
:P
It doesn't matter to me if they are the same or not though.
Now, about Mario Galaxy... Yeah I believe (or it seems) that Mario Galaxy 2 is gonna be basically the same as the 1st galaxy game (which will be lame).

Last time I recall, sequels of many games tend to be the same, except the fact that new stuff is added. Believe it or not, you surely didn't boo the game while you played it.

I don't have to boo anything, cause in this case I really don't care.
