I played Banjo once. Couldn't get into it. So, I don't really know how to feel about this.
Makes absolutely ZERO sense other than the blatant marketing ploy Microsoft/Rare are DESPERATELY trying to make to get their character out there.
Connection? What connection? the only time Banjo did anything significant he was solely Nintendo when SEGA still made consoles. Can't be a rivalry since Banjo and Sonic have no relation or common ground in the slightest.
So yea, cheap marketing ploy by Microsoft to leech off of a more popular character...

The only way this will make any kind of sense is if the other two platforms do the same thing. Nintendo obviously won't use Mario, as this is direct competition to their brand. And what does Sony have? Sly Cooper?
It's rather sad if you ask me. Although, say both companies did add in characters...who would Nintendo feesibly add in? Diddy?

Sony could add Ratchet/Clank. Although Kratos driving a go kart against Sonic would be intercourse ing hilarious.
Why couldn't Mario ride alongside Sonic? Makes more sense than the two competing for the Olympics (when Sonic should blatantly win every event outside of swimming between the two of them)
Mario Kart is the kart series. I honestly can't imagine even acknowledging another with Mario.

One of the Kongs sounds to be in place alongside Banjo. As for Sony... yeah, Ratchet/Clank sounds most likely. If Sony still owned the souls of Square Enix, we could probably see a Final Fantasy character (Moogle), but nope, not anymore.

And I know they wouldn't be in the same game, but it'd be funny. Diddy replacing the current main RARE character...when in reality, he was pretty close to mascot material (what with the nice hat).

I played the demo today, actually.
It's surprisingly fun, it reminds me of Crash Team Racing, which was a great kart game on par with Mario Kart.
Maybe Banjo will end up in the next Smash Bros if Rare wants to get him out there so badly.

Rare pretty much isn't going back to its roots anymore. Banjo and Kazooie shone the most with Nintendo, but they like money better than a franchise.
