We went to Rockefeller Center yesterday, for an Italian trip. We went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and then Sbarros for lunch. Those are not important. What either of those had to do with Italian, I do not know. They claim it was an "Italian" fast food restaurant. The food sucked but the Italian accents were cool. We went to see the tree, that's semi-important. The important part? I went to the Nintendo World Store for the first time!
My group planned this from the start of the trip. I told myself not to get my hopes up because I didn't know if it was actually within walking distance or if we'd be able to even get there in time. We did. Turns out, if you are walking to the tree from where those angels are and make a left, it's on the end of that block of the street.
Well, it was pretty cool. The first floor had a Pokemon area, the "Pokemon Center", with Giratina in Origin Forme one one banner with Pikachu and the Sinnoh starters on another. They sold plushes and little figurines (which I can get at Epcot in Disney in a week or so). They had a display with the new DS Lite colors and the four DSi colors. They had a round table set up with DSes (I think) in the middle of the store with a booth on the side for that new fashion game (ugh).
The second floor had some handheld consoles displayed in a case. You've probably seen them before on someone's oldsider thread. It had three Game & Watches -- Panorama view, one screen, and two screen. They had about a dozen DS Lites from "around the world" (promotional DS Lites, like that Pikachu one, the Wario: Master of Disguise one, that football plan one, and that Seattle Mariners one. No Dialga/Palkia one though :( They also had an NES with ROB and Gyromite with another game, a Famicom with two controllers, a prototype NES. An interesting one was the Triforce GBASP signed by Miyamoto himself. There was apparently only 30 of them made, one on display in the case there. They had clothes and more plushes upstairs. What mad me off was (get ready for the oldsider Lotos) that the DK and Diddy plushes had "Super Mario" on their tags. >:(
But any~way~ they had the Wiis upstairs. About a dozen or so consoles. Each must have had this awesome disc in it that allowed you to play any of the games that they put on it (either that or the demos). Mario Kart, SSBB, Pikmin, Wii Fit Plus, Metriod, and possibly Mario and Sonic At the Winter Olympic Games. I think NSMB Wii was the actual game disc in some of the Wiis. Does NSMB Wii normally lag with jumping with the Wiimote? It did that for us.
I don't feel like adding more. Pics later maybe?
HOLY SHIT DUDE THAT'S FREAKING AWESOME-oh wait, I've been to Nintendo World six times already. ._.
Diiiiiiiiiiiick.
But really, it's an awesome place. Especially when they have their special events.
He's but heard of the special events. The only one he actually went to was the Scribblenauts event.
I remember him crying because he couldn't make it to the Midnight Launch of Spirit Tracks there. Ahhh, good times.
Nintendo world is awesome, i was there recently.
And i thought you lived on Long Island, and you've never been there?
I like the pokemonz part. I liek all the lil figurines and stuff. Andthe DS table is kinda epic, despite all thesnotty lil kids that have touched it.

Yup. I'm out near that white courthouse. I've only been to Rockefeller Center twice, that being my second time. Same trip last year. If only I had known about it last year ;-;
When I went to New York, I got to see Rockafeller Center too.
But they didn't let us into the Nintendo store! :( We were under 18. (Don't get how THAT matters AT ALL, but whatever.)
Did you see the SNL set when at Rockafeller Center? I never imagined it to be so small. It's astounding.
WHITE COURTHOUSE DATS RITE I THINK I REMEMBRR U SED DAT ONCE
i have no idea where that is :3
I've never been to Roc. center. But I do watch 30 Rock. And if I did go, whenever I watched 30 rock after that, I would shout "I BEEN THERE!"
Even if I was alone.

I was 16 the first time I went on this trip. They let us do what we want for an hour and a half I think. This time I was 17 and we had an 18 year old with us in the group, but that probably had nothing to do with it because the teacher said that we still had to listen to the rules or something as it was a school trip.
Didn't see the SNL set, but saw the NBC store if that counts.
