Title: Shattered Memories endings/cut scenes
Post by: Dog Food on December 27, 2009, 09:02:21 PM
So I beat this game last night. I got it for Christmas. I don't know if many or any of you have it. A lot of you probably whined about the fact that there's no combat, like a lot of other ninnyy teenagers I know. All I know is, I enjoy horror and I love the fact that they played up the 'running for your life' factor, with a thrilling story, over shooting zombie-like creatures while searching for your daughter. Oh, and if anyone had a problem with the icy transformation needs to intercourse ing read Dante's Inferno instead of complaining that it isn't "hellish" at all. Because they're wrong.

Anyway, spoilers ahead, so beware. -- If anyone got it and finished it, post your endings. I played it as truthfully to myself as possible, and I got the Drunken Ending. I got the psychiatrist cut scene where the girl is like "It's not my fault you died" and then Harry is like, "Forget me" and turns to ice, whilst his daughter hangs her head and cries. Then it skips to a videotape of Harry being a total dick and being all drunk and muttering about "No wonder I drink with a family like this." Anyway, apparently this ending shows that I played the game with strong influences towards "alcoholism, introversion, and aversion to marriage." It's so weird how well they pinned me down. I didn't spend my time staring at booze or ranting about how marriage was bad. I even said it was possible to have a happy-after (although I would definitely go on to say the chances of that happening are so slim that marriage isn't worth it if I had the chance). But they still got me in the end. The analysis at the end was somewhat accurate, too. I might have a need to help people to a fault, I'm dependable, and I hate marriage but I want a family (there's a sort of catch 22 with that one...).

Anyway, fun game but way too short and not scary at all (well, I did jump when I tried opening the door during that last Nightmare sequence and the creature tried prying his hands through the crack in the door - that hadn't happened before). So, post your own cut scenes or whatever else about the game. There's a lot of things that can change (plus the mementos, ghosts, and UFOs to achieve), so it does have somewhat of a playback feature, and lots of differing things from game to game to talk about.
