"Mr. Iwata did not make any comments regarding the functions of Nintendo's future hardware systems" (http://kotaku.com/5446592/nintendo-ceos-comments-on-ds-successor-were-misinterpreted).
Fuck...
First the Square-Enix stuff, now this?
Is this year trying to troll me?
Weird, since Reggie personally announced it on Nintendo Week.
.....Wait, are you talking about the DSi XL?

There was a DS2 rumored to be announced with motion censors and better graphics. There's a thread on it a few threads below on this board. (http://nsfcd.com/index.php?topic=34308.0) Here's a followup Kotaku article. (http://kotaku.com/5442055/motion-control-on-a-new-ds---how-might-that-work)
But now the newspaper that interviewed Iwata said they reported him accurately (and according to places I've read this they're a very reputable newspaper), so what exactly was said we may never know the full extent.
We know they're working on a DS2 of some sorts. Nintendo knows they can't just keep the DS line going without significant leaps (and no the Lite, DSi, and XL don't count since the DSi features were going to be standard in any handheld ANYWAY). Especially since the DS has been out since 2004, which is well at the edge of most consoles.
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the DS2 was shown at E3 this year.
THANK GOD
FUCK YOU DS2, WE DON'T NEED YOU

This. It has to happen. We're going to see a DS reboot whether we like it or not, just as we saw with the game boy.
Honestly, I'm fine with waiting a bit longer If we have to as long as they make it more polished, as after playing my friends DSi, it just feels so sloppy. If they don't pull off motion control right, imagine what could potentially happen.
I honestly do not want another DS.
I've only had a DSi for a little less than a year now. :|

By the time it comes out, It'd at earliest be later this year.
...Wait, why'd you get a DSi anyways?
