Question:
When are you getting this game?
Option 1: The day of the release
Option 2: Later
Option 3: Never
Option 4: What is this game, anyway?
If crossover games didn't exist, this game wouldn't have to exist, which would be very sad.
Then again, we screw it with the proof this game does exist.
The game's about to be released this month (Jan. 26) and it's getting me excited. Personally, I've never played a normal fighting game, but once I saw this game, it got me thrilled.
Are you going to get this game the day of the release? Please discuss your thoughts. ;)
I'm picking up that and No More Heroes 2 next Friday. Yay

But it's Ryu and Zero vs. Ken the Eagle and Yatterman... BUY IT ANYWAY! **am I the only one who knows who Yatterman is anyway?**
I love how IGN took some points off for the unknown characters. Fuck you IGN, it's not their fault you're not Japanese. Besides, I'm sure the Japanese totally drools over the fact that guys like the Juggernaut and such were in Marvel vs. Capcom 2, so screw you.

I'll get it eventually...when I stop being such a dumbass and send my Wii in.
You'll stop being a dumbass when you learn to conserve money and buy that PS3 you want. And to IGN, IT'S A CROSSOVER GAME BETWEEN AN ANIMATION COMPANY AND A THIRD PARTY GAMING COMPANY. WHAT DID YOU EXPECT, SPEED RACER?

Actually Tatsunoko DID do Mach Go Go Go (the japanese name of Speed Racer), so having Speed in the game was a distinct possibility...
Speed didn't make the cut because they said that Speed would be boring outside of the Mach 5, and they didn't want to pull a Captain Falcon.
Also, I'm getting this on release.
Why is Frank West in this? :|

He's
Frank West. He did such a good job at
being Frank West, that the only remaining conclusion
was to give him a slot in Capcom's crossover fighter.

But, it's Speed FUCKING Racer. Probably the most famous anime character outside of Japan not named Goku... and even then he might be more famous.
Pulling a captain falcon my ass, ROLL is in this game. She's done zip to nothing in the main Megaman games... besides clean and run the shop. So yea, won't work my ass.
I would also like to note that roll fights using a broom and a bucket of water.
TBH, I can't really think of a moveset for Speed Racer.
I just realized, doesn't this have online?

If they could make one for Roll, I'm sure as hell they can think of one for an able bodied racer. (Hm, I seem to recall another racing character that "couldn't fight since he never left his car" being in a fighting game)

It's like one of those things you can't believe until you see it happen. Like before Smash bros., I couldn't think of what kind of fighting style the Capt. would have.
I get a review copy, albeit the day of release. So yeah, definitely looking forward to it.

and captain falcon turned out to be one of the most epic wins of all time.
Besides, if Tatsunoko and Capcom wanted to release this internationally, Speed would've been a must... at least logically speaking. yea the Gatchaman are great and all, but no one under 30 or a non-anime guy would recognize them. At least Speed had the name value.
Again, Roll and Frank West. I'm sure they could come up with SOMETHING for Speed (I know that's not his "real" name but it's easier to refer to him as that).
Also, the director said that they could release a few characters for DLC if the game sells well enough. If it gets sales in the US, I'm sure Tatsunoko would change their tune rather quickly about that.

Based on the joystick selling out crazy fast before the game even dropped, I'd say we could have a game changer with T vs. C. I'm quite positive it'll sell high amounts...and if we're that lucky, I think DLC would be great. But what I'd like them to do is promise DLC to
push sales...not the other way around.
I managed to get the last stick in the area the other day. It's pretty good for only $80. Apparently Gold Lightan is really bad, but he sure looks fun to play as. Can't wait to pick this up on Tuesday.
I plan on getting this on tuesday. This is my first Wii game purchase since Mario Galaxy, MP3, or Brawl, I can't even remember lol.
Getting the game on the day of release, playing it on the TvC Arcade Stick until I pass out from exhaustion or have a seizure due to its pure awesomeness, and then I'm putting up vids of it on my Youtube channel when I regain consciousness. Oh yeah, I have this all planned out. :D
Does it have online capabilities? If so, then I might be tempted to get it. It looks pretty decent.

Yes it does.
Actually, I think I'll buy it regardless of a 30% functioning Wii.
I've got the game. I'm impressed at how this game turned out to be. At first, I attacked like crazy because I didn't understand the buttons. Once I actually looked at the manual, it became easier to play.
Did anyone else get it yet?
Couldn't get it on release like I planned because of school, but I'll try this weekend.
I got it. I love the Engrish. I'm having a lot of fun online with GOOOOOLD LIGHTAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!
Got it. It's pretty good, actually. I can't wait to unlock Zero.
It wasn't even shipped to the store I checked, apparently. Going to try looking around later.

Rofl, pretty much did the exact same thing. Normally I always read the manual before playing a game, but UPS delivered the game to me really late at night and I was too excited to bother with reading, so I just dove in head first (and of course face-planted). It's an awesome game once you get the basic controls down and begin to learn how to pull off combos and more advanced techs. :)
Haven't tried online quite yet, so I'll probably give that a go here in a few days once I've unlocked everything and get more comfortable with the game.

Have you ever played Dead Rising?
Anyone have any tips on countering PTX? I've been playing online and I've played at least ten matches, and every single one of my opponents used PTX. His Hyper Combos do insane damage and break through your guard, so there really isn't much you can do considering the faggots just spam the HCs.

Oh god, you too? I just fought a fight, but that thing obliterated my characters soon.
And unfortunately, I don't know how to counter that thing. G-Lightan is much easier to defeat to me, but the mecha is just insane...well, in the hands of expert players...
Both giants are overpowered in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, but especially PTX. Even noobs could pwn with him. First time I played as PTX through Arcade mode, his final score topped my score ranking list, and none of my team combos have yet to beat that score. Really would have appreciated it if they hadn't allowed the use of either char online, or at least tweaked them a bit more in order to balance them out.
Unfortunately, don't really know a counter to fighting him, either. Only thing that's worked for me in the past is a Super Jump over their HC, but seeing how someone could easily combo you into it, you probably won't get that chance very often...
I play as Gold Lightan. PTX is never a problem for me.
But I would recommend lots of superjumping, grab teching, and using characters with beam moves. The giants are really the worst characters in the game if you know what to do against them. PTX's supers are jokes as long as you block high.
I don't have the game, but you could try some grapple supers with Frank or Alex.

I main Zero as my first and Tekkaman/MegaMan/Ryu as my 2nd character. I always get close to beating him but PTX's damage output is crazy. I already superjump like hell but I guess I'll try using Alex as my second, to see if it helps.
The things that annoy me most when playing as a giant are characters who throw you and characters who play keep away. Now that I think about it, you might want to try Saki.
Also, everyone who has the game should exchange friend codes. Mine is 3910-8922-8255

more like we have fantastic internet, but you have to log into a network to connect, and since NIntendo's terrible little white box forces you to connect before it'll do anything online (even the browser), it can't get online here on campus. Meanwhile all PS3's and 360's on campus get lighting fast internet. Again, intercourse Nintendo.

I read the manual and tried Training Mode before starting the game. I think it put me in a better situation that I would have been otherwise. I'll probably continue to use them as I grow more used to the game.
I'm getting somewhat better. I've unlocked everyone, and I tried a Wi-Fi match. I didn't do that badly, but I'd say my first opponent was a much better player.
I'm liking Yatterman. I would use Doronjo but I don't have the patience to figure out how to use her henchmen properly. I added you to my friend roster if you ever want a match Chris.

I hear Fronk Weest and Beautiful Joseph are the ultimate bros in this game.
Also, I still haven't gotten it yet...
I've only played one giant robot in my whole online career. What really annoys me is Tekkaman Blade and Zero spammers. Much more annoying than giant robots.
Karas is way cheaper.
Can't argue with that. Karas is easily just as bad, but at least he can't just sit on the edge of the stage and fire projectiles at you all day like Zero or Tekkaman can.
You're online. We should fight each other.

I plan on playing this more seriously once I'm done my gaming back catalogue. It is pretty fun.
I'm having more fun with this than I did with Brawl. It doesn't have as much extra stuff and the music isn't as good, but the creators weren't trying to sabotage its competitiveness and the online actually works.

Zero has two projectiles, one which needs to be charged to have significant knockback and power. The other is a typical charge move like Guile's Sonic Boom and is only useful when on defense. I'm surprised you've encountered people that use him as a projectile spammer because he has far better air game, almost as good as Viewtiful Joe's.

I'll add you both now, and I might be on later tonight.
By the way, there are a few things you should all know. However, I'll leave some as surprises.
1) Why not play the secret mini-game at any ending in Arcade Mode?
1+) Why not finish the final boss with Roll (literally), THEN play the secret mini-game?
2) You get third colors if you can beat any giant at Stage 4. Remember that the current character defeating the giant will be the only one to receive the color.
3) You get fourth colors if you beat Yami. It's the same as above.
