I was reading Wikipedia, and no wonder he is considered great. Apart from the whole taking over Asia thing. I mean, read his testament
QuoteConstruction of a monumental tomb for his father Philip, "to match the greatest of the pyramids of Egypt"
Erection of great temples in Delos, Delphi, Dodona, Dium, Amphipolis, Cyrnus, and Ilium
Building of "a thousand warships, larger than triremes, in Phoenicia, Syria, Cilicia, and Cyprus for the campaign against the Carthaginians and the others who live along the coast of
Libya and Iberia and the adjoining coastal regions as far as Sicily"
Building of a road in northern Africa as far as the Pillars of Heracles, with ports and shipyards along it
Establishment of cities and the "transplant of populations from Asia to Europe and in the opposite direction from Europe to Asia, in order to bring the largest continent to common unity and to friendship by means of intermarriage and family ties."
So basically, he wanted to
-Give his dad a big intercourse ing tomb
-Be cultural
-Make a huge ass navy to take over the rest of the world
-Give Africa an economy
-Eliminate racial issues in Europe / Asia
If thats not Great, I'm not sure what is.

Well, that was nice of him.
But Hitler fixed both the American and German economies. Nicest guy ever.
He was a pretty cool guy.
Kinda sucks that he died young. Ghengis Khan's death sucked too. He wasn't in battle or anything, he was like 70, and he fell off his horse.

Just double checked, and there are a handful of theories about Ghengis Khan's death. They seem to range from died in battle to killed by sex slave. Does this mean that Jabba the Hut may have died the same way as Ghengis Khan?
Don't forget the allegations that he was gay for his best friend.

I think the falling off his horse thing is the most logical besides being killed in battle.
I also heard him falling off his horse was actually caused by a heart attack :o

Keep in mind that any ancient history is irreversibly colored (some might say tainted) by ancient historians, who will do their absolute darndest to portray someone like a hero if they want to, including leaving facts about that person out. Without truly reliable primary or older secondary source docs about Alexander der Mensch, trying to evaluate his real motives is a nearly (if not totally) impossible exercise.
What did you expect from Aristotle's pupil?
