Title: Thanks for paying up

In case you didn't know, Obama (and his Press Secretary) had some wages about hockey going on (first Women, then Men's). As you know, Canada took GOLD in both (yeah baby). So what had to be payed? Wearing a hockey jersey for a press conference, and some symbolic beer.

A couple of interesting quotes...

QuoteGibbs appeared in front of the room and before the live cameras to what sounded like good natured groans. He turned for the cameras, and explained how President Obama had instructed the U.S. Embassy to send a case of Molson Canadian (from Canada's oldest brewery) and a case of Yuengling (brewed in Pennsylvania, by the oldest beer maker in the U.S.) to the Prime Minister's office.

QuoteOne of the American reporters quipped to the Canadians, "you won the gold and you have health care!"

Discuss bets, Canada, or health care.

I'll get the ball rolling...what bets have you won? Lost?

This guy in my TV Basics class lost some bet and came in wearing a dress... He actually looked good in it.

I lost this one bet over which one of my friends would win a round of Tekken, and had to hand over a pic of me licking on a candy cane. So yeah... >.>;

So that's why we lost the game. Our team must have been forced into taking a dive so that Obama could trick us into thinking free health care is a good thing. It's the only logical explanation.

Bets are pretty cool, but not so much when you don't win them.
