NO CALL IT TYPHLOSION
My Totodile is nicknamed ROADKILL ;)
You do realize you will soon have a TYPHLOSION named Cyndaquil right?
I prefer to leave pokemon names in all caps, for nostalgia's sake. Well, mostly habit
My Cyndaquil is default.
Mine is called Dynamite. It's getting harder to come up with decent nicknames as I play more versions.

Which starter did you pick?

Mine would be default too, or if I was still like 10, crocodile for Totodile or flame for Cyndaquil. I would name them after what they were in the Pokédex or what they resembled. Thankfully in 8th grade, I decided against that and would keep them default. In Gold, I liked that nickname for Totodile when I thought of it in 6th grade, so I'm doing it again now (I picked Cyndaquil for Silver, the one I had first).

Cyndaquil for me. If I get Gold in the future it'll probably be Totodile.
