Title: Scars
Post by: Dog Food on March 20, 2010, 08:29:39 AM
ITT : Talk about scars and how you got them.

I have a scar on the top of my left knee from running down a hill and banging my knee on the corner of a concrete slab that was in my way. It made me spin around and I crashed into a fence. I couldn't stand on that leg for a while after that. I ended up hopping over to the concrete slab to sit down and tried to stop my knee from shaking uncontrollably. I was wearing jeans, so I felt that it cushioned the blow. But then I noticed that there was something red seeping through my jeans, and I realized that I did more than just bang my knee. At least I got this awesome scar out of it.
That's what you get for ignoring the pain, refusing to clean the wound, and pretending as if nothing happened instead of treating it.

I also have a scar right above the knuckle of my left middle finger. I was cooking myself breakfast when I spilled stuff onto the stove. I tried cleaning it up, but my hand got too close to the pan and I banged my middle finger into the side of the pan. Thank God for reflexes. Now I have a light scar where the pan touched me.
Once again, if you put some cold water over it or something instead of ignoring it, you probably wouldn't have gotten a scar.

Oh, and a scar on the back of my right ankle from when I banged it into the corner of the leg of the ottoman in our house (you wouldn't believe how sharp those corners are - I learned the hard way). It looked like a cigarette burn after it stopped bleeding. Pretty cool. But I blame this one on it being early in the morning and my dog wanting to play.
Once again, instead of using the pain to pretend you broke your foot and parading around the house to see what it'd be like, and then hurting yourself again when you attempted to hop back down the stairs, you should have put a band-aid over it or something so you wouldn't get that scar.

Three Scars.

All on my right arm.

All are tooth indents from where the rottweiler sank his pearly whites in to the bone, attacking without provocation.

oh to be 9 and getting mauled by dogs nearly my height.

I have scars from being a premature baby.  I'd post pics, but I think I could be identified if I posted them.</parnoid>

I wouldn't call that a story. More like scar facts or scar locations.

i have emotional scars n i cut myself

But really no scars. The only thing you could call a scar is when I slid and broke one of my front teeth. Had to get a crown in for that.

A nice 2-inch scar on my left arm where my cat scratched it. Looks badass.
A nice Y-shaped scar on my right temple where I fell from my loft bed. :B I have pics of that one right after it happened. Also, a scar on my upper lip from where I got scratched by a cat when I was about 6. It's the reason why I can never grow a real mustache. ;_;

One over my right eye.  My brother shoved me out of bed one night in a hotel in Ohio and hit my head on the end table corner.  Needed five stitches.

I have another on my left leg.  Landed on some broke glass hidden in the grass in elementary school.  The cut wasn't deep, just kinda long (it was like 2 inches I think).  It wasn't fun gimping down to the nurses office holding a wad of paper towels over my bleeding leg.

My father was... a drinker and a fiend. One night he goes off... crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that, not one bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He turns to me and he says "WHY SO SERIOUS?". He comes at me with the knife "why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth. "Let's put a smile on that face." and... why so serious?

You look nervous. Is it the scars? You want to know how I got 'em? Come here. Hey! Look at me. So I had a wife, beautiful, like you, who tells me I worry too much. Who tells me I ought to smile more. Who gambles and gets in deep with the sharks... Look at me! One day, they carve her face. And we have no money for surgeries. She can't take it. I just want to see her smile again, hm? I just want her to know that I don't care about the scars. So... I stick a razor in my mouth and do this...
/me pretends to cut mouth open
...to myself. And you know what? She can't stand the sight of me! She leaves. Now I see the funny side. Now I'm always smiling!

Only ones i remember off the top of my head are the ones on my thighs from... you know. ;__;

I have a few here and there from random places, also on the back of my right hand in the middle, i was cut there accidentally a long time ago. My vein bulges a bit there probably for that reason. Oh, and there's one on my back from god knows what, I never see it myself though..

A lot of the "scars" I get go away eventually, I'd like to know why...

I have one in the corner my right eye that was from falling into the corner of a chair when I was a small child. I have one on my right pinky that's been there as long as I can remember and I have no idea how I got it. One on my stomach from dropping down out of a tree and getting sliced by a broken branch. One on my right wrist from melted wax was burning away my skin there. One on my left elbow from a rusted latch on a gate at a pool which is probably my most recent one (that I know about) that I got a couple years ago.

And not really a scar but there is a gray dot in the skin on my right foot where I accidentally poked myself with a really sharp pencil way back in like first or second grade. It still hasn't gone away after all these years :(  I think that's it, though there might be a few more.
None of them are big or really noticeable though.

That's the worst place to do that. If you strike your major vein there, you could bleed to death and die. I know you're depressed and everything, but no one wants you dead.

I have one on my foot, 2 on left arm, 1 on right arm, and random small amounts on hands from work/Football/ect...

Foot came from back in NC. I was walking around without shoes or socks (which is normal) and I caught a knocked over fence what still had the ends. Cut it open. Disinfected it and that was all. Nice scar actually.

1 on my left arm was to see if my sword I had gotten was sharp. Yeah, I was REALLY young and kinda stupid, got a sword, and tested it on the top of my arm. Not emo style under the wrist.
Another on left is from when a big branch fell from a tree. Brought my arm up to block it and SMACK! End story

Right arm comes from a car accident. My are just hit the door and it made a scar somehow.

And those are the big ones. The rest are on my hands.

3 scars.

One is across my chest from when i was surfing in Hawaii. i was wearing a shark tooth neckless and the wave behind me crashed on me hard. My neckless was gone but i have this scar on my chest and it was bleeding pretty heavily. It the neckless was still on me, it would've gone pretty close to my heart. It goes right across my chest where my heart is.

Another scar on the back of my calf when i was mountain biking and fell off my bike, with the chain wheel scratching 8 gashes into my leg. It looks like i got bit by a Rottweiler.

The last one is on my back, when i was swimming in a river on white water rafting trip. We were in a still area so no rapids were near us. The current took me toward a patch of rocks which were pretty sharp. Went right over them, have 3 marks on my back from it.

But for real, I have a few scars.

I have random assorted chicken pox scars.
I have a scar across the bridge of my nose, from when I was in 1st grade. My first year with glasses, jumped on the playground and smashed my face into a pole, the glasses dug about a centimeter and a half into my skin.
I have a ring of scars around my right thumb, from when a dog bit me.
I also have a random scar on my left forearm near my wrist. I don't know how I got it.

Damn, those are some nice scar stories. That first one is especially interesting. Wouldn't have thought a shark tooth necklace would embed into your skin like that and leave a scar. Does it look like a shark bite?

Heh, a dog bit me on my right thumb, too. Left sixteen bleeding holes on my thumb (yeah, I counted), but they were gone after a few weeks.

It doesn't look like a shark bite. Its like a long diagonal scar thats across my chest. If it was like a shark bite, It probably would've stabbed my heart.

I'm not 100% sure if it's a scar, and I'm not sure if it would count.
But I have a dot on my hand, looks like something went in and stayed in for a long time, thus leaving a permanent mark, not sure if that's how it got there though, could be a birthmark, but all I know is it moved from my childhood to now, it used to be on a spot of my hand, where when you make a hand face (you know, make a fist with your thumb tucked in, move the thumb as if it's the mouth), except in the middle, so I often made a cyclops face with that hand, but now it's on my index finger's knuckle.

I also gave my sister a scar, we were playing cops, I was the cop, I handcuffed her to some workout station in my uncle's garage, she stood up on the chair thingy while handcuffed for some reason, and I could swear I heard her TELL me to push her, though she says she didn't, maybe because she didn't want it to be her fault. Anyway, so I push her, she falls onto a mirror and it breaks, cutting her arm, if you looked at it you could see the bone (I never saw it, but she said she could).
After that, she went crying out of the garage into the house, and my uncle gets mad that she got blood on the doorknob :| while my aunt gets mad that she got blood on the white carpet :| :|
Eventually, she doesn't end up going to the hospital, don't remember what they did about it, something about it not being that serious (yeah, seeing bone isn't that serious), but when we went back home, my gramma took her to the doctor or hospital, and they said "you should have gone to the hospital, this should have had stitches" :|

I've got one on my nose from them needing forceps to get me out when I was born, and one from all the way from my neck down to my waist from my two back surgeries.
