Title: How do you compare to your friends?
Post by: Java on March 28, 2010, 06:01:56 PM
We all have friends (or at least I hope we all do).
We all play Super Smash Bros.
So where do you stand among your friends when it comes to Super Smash Bros. whether it's 64, Melee, or Brawl?

Are you the best Smash player among your group of friends?
Perhaps you're just about average?
Maybe you just flat-out suck and everyone is ten times better than you?
Which one are you?

Best smasher among my friends easily; Though a few can do somewhat well against me. I don't play much more asides from homebrew and just for messing around so yeah.

Wrong. I don't play.

But I imagine myself not being too bad compared to friends if I was playing. (What friends?)

Lol, for a person who plays Smash Nearly every day since it's release, I dare not shame myself to lose to those who play smash 1nce a week, or even 5 times a week.

I'm the, "Boss" to beat when we play 4 vs.
Usually they fight each other and just save me for last. They know that they are gonna lose, but they fight me anyway.

Before it's 1 on 1, they press pause, take a deep breath...... look at me, and just get prepared to be beaten.
It's now gotten to a point where I just choose "random", and they Pray that Random doesn't fall on one of my mains.

If they are playing their best character and "Random" chooses me to be Peach or J-puff for example, I might lose. Other then that....... they really don't stand a chance.

Anybody here can certainly beat them, so I'm not just blowing smoke here. :P

only when dealing with my Friends, anybody I don't know... I'm very timid.
(That's why I avoid tournaments) lol.
If I know I can win with people I'm comfortable around, that's one thing. (But even then I don't brag).

But when it comes to people I don't know...... oh no..... can't do that.

I have 4 people besides myself that I play Smash bros with regularly (with other friends coming and going).

2 of them I'm out and out better than but with them being able to hold their own and occasionally win.

2 of them are better than the other 2
when playing one of them in Melee he wins about 3/4 matches we play. But in Brawl I win about 2/3 matches we play.

The other one is slightly better than the first one (though that might be because he's more used to fighting me 1v1 since they seem about even 1v1) and is my doubles partner when we (very rarely) go to tourneys.

I never considered myself good at Super Smash Brothers... until I played against other people, that is. Well, I still don't consider myself that good. I just consider every single other person I know even worse than I am.

There are three girl friends that I play with - better than all of them (I've only lost a match against one of them a few times, otherwise I am undefeated - quite literally, even after all these years).
There are 6 guy friends that I play with - better than all of them (once in a while I'll lose a match, but I outrank them in kills and wins by the end of the day).

I can pick up the game after a year or so of not playing, and still kick ass. I really piss off one of my guy friends, he's a bit of a sexist poop hole. He's refusing to play against me now. He keeps insisting that I practice everyday and I must spend all my time playing this game like a loser, and I just laugh at him and KO him.

But like I said, I'm not any good at this game. My friends just suck even more than I do, creating an illusion of greatness.

I'm ok. I dont think I'm a good player, but I'm the best out of all of my friends.

I'm around the middle with my friends, but only because the guy who's "in charge" of our Wii during lunch never turns items off. :| And he's not even the one who brings it.

The matches between me and my 3 closest smash friends vary greatly. I'd say I have the 2nd most wins out of us, or at least close 3rd, but I'm not entirely sure; one of my friends generally loses (no offense, chaos_gear), but other than that we're pretty even, and even he has won pretty often. I'm definitely not first, though.

I'm better, I guess. They spam a lot. I don't know how they really play other than picking pickachu and spamming thunderbolt.

Braden is slightly better than me in melee. (As due to lack of Lucas)

But I rape EVERYBODY I know with Lucas in Brawl.

It's hard to tell for me because I don't invite people over to my house that much.

i win a lot against tollhouse but not all the time. if you remeber skye he beats me half the time so i guess we're even although i haven't gotten to play him in a real match since june. i moved so i play this other guy he is just a level below pro so he beats me most of the time but i'm working my way up to be even with him eventually.

I'm not the best SMBB brawler among my friends but I'm definitely not the worst. Many of my friends can't even beet a lvl 2 CPU. It's sad but it's always funny to watch. Wouldn't you agree?

I'm currently ranked 4th in Arizona, so I'm going to say I'm better than everyone I know minus 3 people.
