Everyone knows that in games, sometimes you'll get the option of one or another, which may or may not slightly effect the story but generally not change how the game pans out.
This thread is for discussing that.
Two that instantly come to mind are both from Final Fantasy games.
In Final Fantasy 7, you can choose through your actions one of four characters to "date." The option you generally wanna go for is Aeris, since the date was promised with her and she's gonna die anyway. But you can also get Tifa, Yuffie, and Barret (which is strictly for lulz.) I usually don't try to get anyone specific, so I usually end up with Aeris, but I have tried for the other three, with Tifa being my only successful date.
In Final Fantasy 6, when you first start out in the world of Ruin, you can either save Cid or let him die. If you save him, you depart normally, but if he dies, Celes attempts suicide, only to survive and find new hope when finding Locke's bandana. While the former option has the feel-good part to it, if you let Cid die, you get an amazing story element added in.
In Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening you can steal from the store whenever you want, but then everyone in the game refers you as "THIEF" rather than the name you entered in at the beginning. Also by stealing from the store, when you go back in the guy kills you. So you get free items, but it ruins the chance for a perfect complete with 0 deaths.
Would the majority of Majora's Mask count?

Fucking love this one.
Are there any more of these? I would think there would be more, assuming it can be done with a simple boolean, especially the Link's Awakening one.
