tl;dr

Basic summary of article: Guy goes without internet for five days and talks about it. Thinks and then says we only go to the Internet just so we can be recognized.

Agree? Disagree? Do you think YOU can go five days without internet?
...I probably couldn't

I can go without it but it depends on if I have other things to do, and I really don't like to go without it. And you can do things on the internet that has nothing to do with interacting with people so you don't have to be recognized, but I'm sure a good deal of people that use social networking sites, forums, and other stuff like that probably do it for that reason.

oh snap S.C.

Thread is too good to die.

yes, I can go that time without internet. Comfortably. Right now, often enough, it feels as if I'm committed to the internet. I'm a tool to it...it should be the other way around. That'll change down the road, I guess.

I don't think we're on the internet for recognition though - it's the wrong place for it. Unless you're someone like moot, it won't ever happen. A legacy? Maybe. But for the overwhelming majority of people, you're just an idiot with too many numbers at the end of your screenname.

I can easily, though it would likely be replaced with TV.

Sadly I must agree with this.

Recognition? Depends on how much you truly want. If you want to be super famous to all extents...Yeah. No. You better have some extreme plan there.

Could I go 5 days without internet? If It's under notice, easily. I've done so before on numerous occasions but those occasions appear less and less and are more forced each time.
