Title: Websites that change their layouts.
Post by: The Riddler on April 28, 2010, 03:04:46 PM
We've all seen it. Facebook changes their layout almost bimonthly, Youtube just had a pretty big layout change... how does this make you feel?

Unfortunately it's something we all have to get used to, and sometimes we do, but other times it absolutely infuriates me. Facebook had a perfect layout for a while after about a dozen revisions... then they went and intercourse ed it up again.
Youtube was always perfect, now it's ugly as intercourse ing sin. You can't rate videos 1-5 anymore, you have to click drop down menus to see EVERYTHING, the related videos section has been made confusing, the comments are almost unreadable, there isn't a little button to click to get the direct URL of a video anymore on the player itself, and as of today the volume switch is on the left.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFf.

Facebook is constantly getting worse and then better and then worse again. But Youtube, that I'm pretty annoyed with, too. It used to look so nice, now it's confusing as intercourse  and ugly.

Youtube's layout used to be just fine. But instead of fixing their copyright bullpoop, THEY FUCKING MAKE THE LAYOUT SUCK EVEN MORE ASS.

Youtube is getting worse and worse all around.

Am I the only one who thinks this (http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/listen_to_yourself.png) is a plausible option?

I quite dislike Youtube's new layout. Facebook is fine. Uh, I can't really think of any other sites with new layouts at the moment.

Actually, I was perfectly fine with Youtube, until I saw it today. My favorite website besides this one now just looks plain ugly and wrong.
Also, it is slower  :|

The look, I can deal with. (Even if it's ugly as hell.)

It's when they intercourse  with the features that pisses me off.

Like Youtube. I have a music playlist on there, and it has 200 songs. However, they removed the randomize button! Now I gotta listen to all my songs IN ORDER, EVERY TIME!

I'm fine with the new youtube layout but I don't really care for the new look that they just implemented for the player. I did like the new layout though after I got used to where everything was.

Looking at it right now again and messing around with it more asides from the chat features and I must say I kinda like the new facebook layout. My real question stems from "Wait, what was so good about the old one" Since I don't remember using it for that long.

I'm afraid of change. YT has really made it...not as user friendly as I expected the change would be. That needs to be the ultimate goal - but they've failed.
