That's one nice setlist. I might consider buying it (probably not).

WIN.
Rammstein? MCR? Slayer? Black Sabbath? Studioforce? Fail.
Bohemian Rhapsody is a good song but won't chart well. I gave up on GH a long time ago, looks like this won't give me any reason to change my mind.

While the others we'd be debating pure taste MCR is actually a fantastic addition to the setlist thanks to the vocals - Unlike all these "We're adding it in for the vocals" Songs, it still has a solo and an interesting drum/bass chart.
Oh yeah, slight bump just to announce this coming in from a dutch magazine: For this being Neversoft's going away party they've included a whopping
93 songs onto the setlist. No, that was not a typo. This is the biggest setlist ever to surface the series. And the quality is apparently to stay at a similar tone.
I'll update this with the rumors/leaks lately. There's nothing else confirmed yet. (At least to my knowledge)

I came.
The exact two words I first thought after reading the setlist--and I don't even say that that much.
I knew the game would be good, but not amazing! I might actually get this the day of its release. I really hope they take their time with this one though. All of the previous songs had better be able to be exported/imported too.
One song I seriously got excited about was "Dancing Through Sunday." It's one of my favorite songs, it's by my favorite band, and I've always wanted it on a music game--especially
Guitar Hero.
The fact that it's more of a "serious" rock/metal setlist is a wise choice. I just hope that punk gets its fair share of representation as well.
On a side note, I'll be buying
Green Day: Rock Band for a couple of reasons including wanting to play more punk on a music game. I expect there to be a separate thread for this game come release date. I'll make it if need be.

I'd love to see how they try to pull off a piano. Hopefully, it'll just be a real piano on a videogame. The peripheral and "highway" have got to look weird.
I don't know about the credibility of that image though. It really looks sketchy, but I guess it gives something to look forward to.
The game's setlist isn't as metal as I think it would be.... -.-
WTF My Chemical Romance, Buzzcocks, and Silversuns...... They're barely metal and hard rock and don't have any sort of hard rock or metal atmosphere. I hope it's intended for a guitar battle against vagina-y characters.
Besides them the tracklist is okay.
Well, I had meant to get GH5, but that never worked out. I'm guessing I'll probably end up either getting or renting GH6, just for the sake of having a new GH game in my arsenal. I've heard GH5 wasn't too bad, so maybe this'll be decent. The setlist looks kind of desperate and kind of obvious at the same time, with a few songs by bands you'd expect in a new GH these days, but really, more MCR? I don't know if many people still like them...bad move. And FotS...really? Do we actually need more DragonForce?
Then there's RB3. Since we know nothing about it except the instruments, I'll say I have good hope that it'll positively build on what RB2 did and make it even better, which is pretty darn hard considering how much I still love playing RB2. Vocal harmonies and keyboard are good ideas, but my only concern is that we won't have enough songs utilizing these features. We'll just have to see what they'll do.
Dragonforce fits into the whole fantasy theme well. MCR not so much though....
If GH6 has some Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, KAMELOT, Rhapsody...
They could really pull off the 'fantasy' theme well if they chose the right music >_>
'Fantasy' Theme is pretty vague but you guys saying MCR doesn't fit into the setlist is rather odd. The song has a solo, and for that matter, a good part for every other instrument. It's kinda the sour thumb, but not by that far
Especially compared to these new announcements! (I'll edit the source page later)

how the intercourse did you lose your hype almost all the choices on that were amazing asides from Linkin Park and FOB...But to be fair we've had those on main setlists before. And the choices are easily the best from those two bands.
edit: I'm more questioning the "More" btw since most of this has followed the trait we've had so far in this list.
Why are y'all hatin' on My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy, and some other bands? They're all awesome and would be great for this game. Admittedly, I haven't heard too much of LP or FOB, but what I have heard is good, and I've heard all of MCR's albums--which are great.
Anyway, I'm just hoping for some non-mainstream and/or pre-2003 AFI songs (probably for DLC). The ones already in the series are awesome, but they're just the singles from the albums and none of their hardcore punk stuff. "Dancing Through Sunday" is a great start, but I'd really like something off of The Art of Drowning or Black Sails in the Sunset (both great albums). That would be awesome to play.

They trying to create enviroments based on different genres of hardrock as they did with Brutal Legend. ALA knights and wizards for power metal and chains and BDSM for industrial metal. Or atleast I hope so....
The soundtrack got a bit more badass which is good to see. (Rammstein! The big four of thrash! Slipknot!). I hope it throws off MCR and Fallout Boy (ughhh.)

They'd better put some brutal death metal and black metal in it. I'd love to see what stages they come up with.
Also, psychedelic and acid rock need a drug room that gets "trippy" similar to what Harmonix did in
RB2 and
The Beatles: RB with the background effects. That was awesome.

They said it's going to include 100% fictional characters (Although Dave Mustaine was given a chance to appear.), so I'm guessing it's going to dig very deeply into it's fictional setting, I'm hoping for some Lovecraftian influence and some Sci-Fi influence.

HOLY PISS IF THEY PUT DAVE MUSTAINE IN... 8) =O
Also, I may not know much of Lovecraft's work (I'm very interested, though) but if they put Cthulhu in that would be supremely awesome. Some sci-fi work would be great as well.

You're misquoting me. I merely said that
GH:WoR would be an excellent game as a response to the thought that it would be inferior to
RB3 in the sense that the games were being compared. It is most definitely not the wrong opinion to have as--as I have said--opinions cannot be wrong (nor can they be right). Maybe you mean to say that it's an unpopular opinion? That would be a more reasonable statement.

Sorry about that, it was vague on my part.
There's no such thing as a factual opinion though. Facts and opinions are--in this context--opposites. A fact is a proven statement. An opinion is a personal belief. Please tell me how you think an opinion can be proved or factual.

Because it's a fact that Rock Band 3 will be better, and it also happens to be my opinion. Thus, factual opinion.
GH6 is just more of the same. It's really no change from GH5 besides the setlist, except for some random stupid gimmicks. RB3 actually TRIES to mix everything up a bit while retaining the awesome of the first two games without boring us with the EXACT SAME THING. Also, it tries to advance the series and the players further. What is GH6 doing? OMG POWERUPS FOR BIGGER SCORES!

It's not a fact that
RB3 will be better; the game didn't even come out yet. Even if it was out now, you still couldn't prove that it's better. For instance, I like
GH's circle-shaped notes more than
RB's rectangle-shaped notes. That is my opinion, though I can't prove that
GH's circle-shaped notes are better for everyone than
RB's rectangle-shaped notes just as you can't prove that
RB3 is or will be better for everyone than
GH:WoR.
So, do you at least acknowledge the concept of a fact as a proven statement? As of now, this is my only question to you, and it's a "yes or no" question; please answer with one word--no other words are needed or relevant.
I have a hunch that you're just busting my chops. In other words, I think (or rather, I've thought that) you might be a troll. You can be sure that I'll return the favor.
I must say, I'm really looking forward to the Keyboard on Rock Band 3.
It'll probably bring back memories from the piano-playing days.
I'll be getting Guitar Hero 6. I don't have a lot of money, so I won't be getting any of the controllers or anything (Well, I already have 3 guitars, a microphone, and a drumset) ...because I really wanna sing Bleed It Out. If they wanna put some Linkin Park in Guitar Hero they can at least choose some songs where the guitar part is.. well, interesting. Like something from their first two albums plzkthx.
...because some of those songs would be seriously fun to play, like Place For My Head and a few others.

I meant to say that my pedal snapped in half and I used a piece of wood to splint the two halves together.

I've seen Skelator's rig. Shit works well. But if I could, I'd invest in the heavy duty bass pedal that's built from a real bass pedal. Shit is so cash.
