So is the title of a video from a Youtube user approximately four people on NSF know about, and is the source of this thread title's reference.
Subject of the thread this time? Speedruns in Mario games. I'm curious to know how many of you guys have attempted them. Speedruns of the entire game isn't what I'm really looking for here, moreso speedruns of individual levels in any Mario game. Have any of you guys tried it? Example one being me, with Super Mario World. There's one level near the end of the game in Bowser's Lair, where there's no ground, and the majority of the level is riding platforms that fall after you stand on them for a set amount of time, the time being different between the platforms. I remember attempting to speedrun this particular level numerous times, and failing every chance I got, albeit unintentionally. It doesn't help that some of the platforms didn't spawn, sometimes.
Anyway, with that short story out of the way, speedrunning levels in Mario games. Again, how many of you guys have done it?
I'm subbed to LuizPrower, so I've seen this. Yea a good run.
I used to speed-run the original Super Mario Bros. I think my record is somewhere along the lines of 7 min 50 seconds or so. Nearly 3 minutes over the world record. But oh well.
There's no Mario God. People believe there is one, but it's all a lie. We all know the closest thing to god is this...

(If you people didn't know, Shigeru relates to Lakitus.)
(I don't know what happened to the drawing, but it was a Lakitu with Shigeru's face on it.)
My world 9-2 with tiny Mario would be superguide material. That and World 1-1 are the only ones I can think of.
As for other games, I can't remember.
I did a speed run through NSMB Wii not that long ago. It's not that easy :(
The original SMB is pretty rad to do speed runs through. I'd like to try and hit the 5 minute mark, but it's not happening.
I've found that speedrunning a good chunk of the Luma Galaxies (Bright Bulb, Boom Block, Flip Swap) can be pretty darn fun.

I'd love to see four people speedrun through NSMB Wii. That would be amazing to watch, if done correctly.

Uh...five minutes is the WORLD RECORD. Unless you're using warp zones, it's not going to happen...
I'm counting Warp Zone time and the like. I still can't do it.
If you allow the Star levels, I can run SMW really intercourse ing fast. I have the levels mostly memorized.
