Title: Kirby Epic Yarn
Post by: Lotos on June 15, 2010, 09:46:51 AM
Ok, it's not the Kirby game for the 'cube that's been MIA for years now, it may look kiddy, and I don't see his sucking ability, but I'll give it a shot.  It reminds me of Yoshi's Story with more problem solving.

Thoughts?

It reminds me of Kirby's Dreamland 3, actually. The name makes me think it's heavily inspired by Epic Mickey, though.

I know I'm buying it. It shows Ninty hasn't forgotten about the lovable blob of Pink.

While it's weird to see Kirby without his copy ability, it's a pretty amazing new look for Kirby.

Looks ok, like they tried something new, so I'll give it a chance, although it looks really simplistic.

And where did Kirby's sucking up enemies ability go? That IS his trademark ability... huh.
But like I said, looks fun and I'll give it a chance.

As kiddy as the game looks, it does look pretty impressive.
I mean it's better than getting no Kirby game period.

I'm gonna give this one a shot.

I always like Kiby Air Ride. It was terrible by yourself, but I had a lot of fun in City Trial with my friends.

I think it's worth buying just for the City Trial. Me and my cousins would always go down to the garage (the underground area with all the air ride machines), break down the rock barriers underground, take all the air ride machines up to the surface, and then use the entire underground with just our Kirbys to play tag for hours.  :D

Hopefully if sales for Epic Yarn are good, they'll resurrect it and actually release it...

Wow.  I am very impressed.  First off, the graphic style is perfect and adorable.  The sound effects and music is amazing.  The game play is original, which is really hard to come by these days.  The bosses remind me of kirby 64 for some reason, which is extra points for me automatically.

awesome

The art style is certainly interesting and definitely different.
However, for some strange reason, I really wish that Kirby was completely solid, not just outlined...

This. Fucking. This.

Paper Mario breaking off of Mario as a new art style was one thing. He was a solid color.

Kirby's Epic Yarn (don't even get me started on the use of "epic") just looks intercourse ing retarded. If he were a solid yarn ball, maybe it'd be more acceptable, but probably not.

As I've said before, there isn't anything remotely wrong with the design of the game. Sure, if he was solid, it might look a bit better, but hey; this is a platformer Kirby on Wii. I'm not complaining. It looks fun and original, as opposed to keeping to the norm.

I wonder why Nintendo decided to stray away from his sucking ability.
I mean that is what defined Kirby after all.

Why not just give us a sequel to Crystal Shards?  A side scrolling standard Kirby game.

God intercourse ing dangit.

Don't they wanna shed this kiddy poop?

Canvas Curse deviated from the norm, and I think its generally considered to be the first breath of fresh air the series has had since the SNES days. This could be the next evolution. From what I've seen people at E3 generally considered it to be more fun than most of the other Wii games on display, and from what I saw it definitely looks the best.

I never even had the chance to play Canvas Curse.
One of the recent Kirby games that I last played was Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.
All games after that I never got the chance to play.
