Title: Paper Mario 3DS
Post by: shadowmarioguy on June 15, 2010, 07:36:08 PM
Honestly, I'm almost as excited for this as I am for Skyward Sword.

Strange...  Some areas resemble places from the original, and others look like entirely new areas.  I hope it's a new game, and not a remake.  But either way, Paper Mario on the DS is definitely welcome.

At least it was a good lie. People started liking Mr. L and Dimentio.

And this is not a remake. Why would they have a Chain Chomp as Mario's partner?

...Hey, wait a minute. All partners have different features that made them stick out from a crowd of enemies. That Chain Chomp doesn't have anything.

Fuck. Yes.

Best thing announced at E3. Hard to say "By far" because so much else good was announced and brought to the table.

Though I did prefer the first two Paper Mario games, Super Paper Mario wasn't bad.  It had a good plot and some memorable characters.

And at this point I'm almost certain it will be a new game.  At first I just thought that a few of the areas looked almost identical to areas from the first game (like Dry Dry Desert).  But based off of the screenshots we've seen so far, there are way too many new things that weren't in the original.

Mario only has a partner in the battle screens, didn't they follow him around?

That's interesting.  I didn't even notice that they were missing in the overworld.  Hopefully it's just because the game is still early in production or something like that.

Is this only on the 3DS?

Because I really want it and don't have enough money to buy another DS.

Only for the 3DS. You might as well start saving money for the system in next March.

It's backwards compatible; just sell your DS to help pay for it; Gamestop may have a decent deal made specifically for that, like how you could trade in your white Wii with remote, nunchuk, and $50 to get a new black one with Wii Sports and Motion Plus.

I'm glad it went back to turn-based, but 3DS only? ;-;

As opposed to "Wii only? ;-;"

No offense intended, but I don't get why people keep whining about having to buy a 3DS; it's exactly like when we had to buy a Wii to get new games after Gamecube finished, or when we had to buy a DS after GBA was finished, or PS2 replacing PS3, or Xbox 360 replacing Xbox....

Also, this game may as well be Paper Mario 3 since there was no third game in the same gameplay style, hence Paper Mario 3DS.

Point taken.  I'll change the title.

People have a tenancy to go on with these things when it looks like it could be on the last system; Especially with handhelds.
