Title: According to Pixar, Blizzard and Bioware are the Pixar of the video game world

I always thought of Nintendo as the Disney, with Rareware as the Pixar (you know, until Microsoft acquired them -- Pixar, however, is still doing awesome to this day).  Everyone has enjoyed a Rareware game at some point in their life.  Jetpac (though 99% of us have only played it in DK64), Donkey Kong Country, Battletoads, GoldenEye 007, Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day.

To be perfectly honest, the last great Rare game was Goldeneye

Banjo-Kazooie and DK64 were pretty much Mario 64 clones (BJ being handled a lot better than DK64).

eh, I don't see any game company as the pixar of their industry? And nintendo as Disney? That can't be right, Nintendo still makes GOOD things, and doesn't completely sell out and make pieces of crap while claiming to be the best while relying entirely on a second-hand studio that is far too good for them.

Actually, that metaphor is pretty darn good. In terms of quality, there are few companies as anal-retentive as Blizzard when it comes to keeping games patched, and they also have very good tech support according to one of my old suitemates. Bioware probably has the best story and character writers in the VG business, and Pixar likes their big, bold philosophical statements in their movies.

You collect golden trinkets in a somewhat open world, as collecting more plot tokens allows you to open more worlds where you can get certain power-ups to help you get more required thingamahoozits to progress further.
X_X;;

Sorry, they're Mario 64 clones...

Every platforming game ever is a Mario clone, then. :|

No, technically every platforming game is a Pitfall Harry clone, but I digress

And I'm referring to the collect-a-thon plot coupon games that EVERYONE copied during that generation when it came to 3D platformers. Crash Bandicoot wasn't a collect a thon in the same way Mario 64 was, as it was a hallway game. Klonoa wasn't a collect-a-thon either, just a straight up normal platformer. So yeah.

B-K isn't a Mario clone since it displays more gameplay stuff than Mario did. In terms of bosses, B-K's bosses had to be defeated using these different skills unlike jumping or kicking them somewhere. Also, all reviewers should've said a long time ago that every adventure game was a Mario platformer.

I am very very okay with this. Pixar and Bioware might be my favorite two companies right there.
