Some of you may have seen my post in which I stated I got a Blueberry iMac G3/350 for free after getting it as it was about to be recycled. Well, I've installed OS9 on it, soon to be OSX 10.2. Pretty iconic/capable machine, and one that signaled Apple's return to relevance.

These were pretty common in schools, or so I've heard...
Oh, and the mouse, one of the first USB ones? Looked like this:

Thankfully, other mice work with it. Anyone use/own one of these?
Holy crap, I had one of these during the early XP days. Loved it to death, literally.
We had the green one. Wish it hadn't bit the dust.

They aren't that hard to fix, what happened to it?

We moved to a new house across town, and the CRT got cracked in transit. Rather than bother to fix it, we just bought a new computer. Random stuff happens to our Macs.
Our Performa II mysteriously lost it's RAM & CPU. And then the iMac. I was pushing for an eMac or something similar, but we bought a Compaq (yuck)
Yeah, Macs are pretty expensive. The G3 is cheap, probably the only Apple computer you can buy for $20 most of the time these days, even G4s are overpriced.
An eMac is basically a G4 with the all in one design of a G3, and are pretty cool.
That looks exactly like the Macs we had in our computer lab in elementary school...
We had a lot of fun playing games on those things.

Like I said, they were good school computers. I'm using it as a secondary computer, and the only money I'm putting into it is for a keyboard and mouse for it.
