Title: OCD
Post by: Super on August 12, 2011, 04:57:11 AM
Do any of you have any strange obsessions?

I'm obsessed with having my shoelaces tied so that they look exactly the same on each shoe. If one lace is pulled too long or something, I have to fix it. Always.

Also

If i'm wearing a sweatshirt with strings they have to be the same length
I arrange the games on my shelf in a half specific order (that doesn't have to always be the same exact way, but games of the same series must be next to each other)
If I crack the knuckles on one of my hands I absolutely have to do it on the other hand too

And there might be more little things I don't remember but I don't have actual OCD so it's not that bad.
Also I'm pretty sure there's already a thread on this in power down or something but i don't give a intercourse

I don't eat the fat on steak. If there is to much fat I throw that ninny away.

I'm okay with fat in steak but if I get a big glob of just fat I cut it off. No use eating that part if there's no meat at all.

I have tons of dust in certain areas of my house. I'm glad I'm not allergic to it, because if I was I'd probably have died already.

This and the knuckle-cracking thing (as well as neck-cracking and all the rest).

If I somehow come into contact with anyone's bare foot (including my own) I must wash the part of my body that touched it.

I also eat one food at a time--say, if they're on a dinner plate (e.g. meat, mashed potatoes, and peas)--and only drink after I'm done eating unless I get really thirsty or want to cleanse my palate.

always check behind the shower curtain
I do this only because of the tendency of my sister's cat to go behind there, in which case I have to remove her from the bathroom.

Everything I've seen here are forces of habit, not obsessions.
I think you might all be complicating your lives by claiming to have OCD for attention.

While they're not obsessions, they're compulsions. OCD is called such because of the combination of obsessions and compulsions.

All I'm saying is that the technical term is compulsions.
