So, apparently EA beat out Wal-Mart, Bank of America, and AT&T to earn the title "Worst Company in America." Their response:
"We're sure that bank presidents, oil, tobacco and weapons companies are all relieved they weren't on the list this year. We're going to continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300 million people worldwide."
I would be surprised if this weren't a response to Mass Effect 3. People should be complaining to Bioware...

Or maybe it has something to do with Origin being flat out retarded. The wording is appropriate. I'd usually go more in depth, but that description is far too fitting. Or maybe it has to do with the online pass bullpoop.
There are worse companies though.
That's what the intercourse ers get for turning off the LotR:BFME servers.
Oh, it's without a doubt the worst gaming company there is. At least Activision doesn't have Origin.
Whether or not it's worse than the companies that use sweatshop labor, lie about service, or try to scam customers, is debatable.
They have a similar DLC model to Namco and Capcom + Online Passes and Origin. While these business practices might not be "scams" they're still on the border.
Sweatshop labor is pretty bad, won't lie. Can't argue with that.

its funny how often these two companies switch places
What makes you think EA doesn't use sweatshops? How do you think all that game-related merchandise gets made?
As for worst company of the year, I couldn't really say; I haven't purchased an EA game in a while, and while the online passes and DLC these days are down right idiotic, EA's far from the only culprit. Heck, Capcom seems to do all the same stuff, only their DLC costs up to $40 a pop and they've actually boycotted their own mascot.
It bugs me how smug they seem about the whole thing.

Anyways, I wouldn't go as far as naming them the worst company out there, but it's sure that they're not one of the better companies. They have a lot of tendencies to be money grubbing, arrogant, and shady towards their customers.

The Mass Effect 3 Extended Ending DLC is... is...
it's free.
Blame NeoGAF for messing up the results. I wish Apple or At&t had won. :(

What I don't get is the gaming industry in general trying to act like they're different from any other non-essential consumer good industry.
Imagine if car companies required you to pay to use one of their cars if you bought it used.

Well if people don't fall for it, we won't see any permanent changes.
People need to stop being intercourse ing idiots. The fact that that Call of Duty Elite bullpoop actually took off shows how idiotic people are.

when a game company tries to turn their games into "bro shooters" that attempts to milk customers yeah I think they have a reason to complain

Is there no singleplayer option or am I missing something? Last I checked there was and nowhere did I see where you were forced to buy things with money you get eventually in the game anyway.

They dumbed down the single player option in addition to the microtransaction crap. How would you like it if one of your favorite franchises began desperately trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator and alienated you as a result?
Dead Space fans weren't bro shooter fans, they were survival horror fans and sci-fi shooter fans. I enjoyed the crap out of Dead Space 1. 2 was okay. I played a couple hours of 3 at a friends place and all I can say is that EA intercourse ed up big time with this and there is no saving them at this point.
Have you ever played these games?
When did we start resorting to baby language? \:
You don't say "poop" or "intercourse". You say "poop" and "intercourse ". Is it really that hard? We are ADULTS! Just cuss with moderation.
And yes, EA is a poopty poopty company. Not as bad as Ubisoft though.
