Like the only bad thing you could say about EarthBound is that you have to grind a lot. It's one of the best RPGs on a system full of good RPGs.

It's a graphically dated game. I like Earthbound, but you can't dance around the fact that compared to most SNES games it looks like ass.
Games from 1991 at launch looked better than Earthbound.

really? i think it looks better than 80% of snes games
i even think it looks better than games like mega man x and chrono trigger
it's more pixelated, but it looks more like a style than poor graphics to me
also nothing looks as poop-tier as donkey kong country
those games are the worst of the worst in terms of graphics

No no no. The games animations(there are barely any) are really badly animated, and the graphics, while colorful, aren't done well in a technical sense. The overworlds look very, very dated. 1996 can do better than that. Didn't Itoi even say it was due to the game's long development period that the game just didn't turn out graphically up to par? The art direction saves Earthbound in that department. It really does.
I don't like the DKC games' graphics by any means, but technically speaking, they're far more advanced than Earthbound's and a vast majority of other SNES games' graphics. The graphics were computer generated and then photographed. The games are pretty well animated despite that, and at the time, everyone though Donkey Kong Country had amazing graphics. I mean, really, they did. There wasn't a game that looked better than DKC for a short while. Rareware was famous for taking hardware, and somehow making the games look better than normally possible using different techniques.
Chrono Trigger was a graphically superior game, if we're talking the amount of pixels on screen. Compare Chrono Trigger's environments with EB's and you see a clear difference. More pixels typically mean that, which is why as crappy as DKC looked to you, at the time, it was the graphically superior game. They even tried to advertise DKC as a 3D game, lol.
i think it looks fine i dunno
i played earthbound way late and always thought that it looked nicer than the snes games my girlfriend would bring over
intercourse in' pixel art or some poop
Mother 3 could be called stylistic (though the character sprites still suck). Earthbound is just poop.
seiken densetsu 3 is probably the prettiest rpg from the era.

.this makes no sense
it makes plenty of sense
When playing Earthbound, less pixels are rendered.
on a console with fixed resolution...

Right, that's totally why they look better when emulated.

if you ever were a kid who liked to walk around outside and/or had an active imagination you'd probably like it
it's a pretty cool game, but the gameplay mechanics are pretty simple, although ti did bring some genius aspects to jrpgs that weren't often used again
(being able to skip battle sequences and gain exp automatically from enemies you would easily/1hit kill is intercourse ing genius)
also all the battle backgrounds are trippy as intercourse so you'd probably like them
i feel like anybody who played it till the end would find something they like about it
i found it really relatable because when i was a kid i used to like to go on small adventures, i dunno
it's quirky and fun and great
also i didn't really like mother 3, despite everyone telling me it was the best in the series. It was more of a direct story and gave you a little less option for exploration than earthbound did
