Title: Each character will not have there own sub-space story.
Post by: FULL_METAL_RYDER2 on October 10, 2007, 06:26:52 PM
It is one game mode, and it's fairly obvious that it is.

1. when it was unveiled, it was referred to as a single game mode that featured many characters interacting TOGETHER
2. Sakurai confirmed Petey to be the first boss encounter, if each character has there own subspace, he wouldn't have said that, because it would have been incorrect.
3. There's a PARTY system in the game, why in the hell would there be a party system if each character has there own story?

And to begin with, I don't know how you could have expect each character to have there own, brawl has been in development for 2 years, that's not nearly enough time to give each character a unique and robust adventure.

Ok, that's good to know, but did anyone say that they did?  No offence, I'm just asking.

I disagree. What's the point of Pit's Descent? I don't think that each and everyone character will have a unique story, but instead a layout for the story except with different scenarios depending on the character. For example:

If you choose let's say Link as your character, you would have someone to fight in the beginning. (as shown in the movie) Then, once you fight Petey and rescue one of the princesses, you and that person go on a story. The aspects of the single-player that would be different than choosing a different character would be the stages and cutscenes. Not that hard to do.

I think the cutscenes will be based upon the characters you choose, along with the stages.

I've been thinking this ever since I saw the Petey trailer...
Thanks for putting it into an easy to understand thread :)

If every character has his own sub-espacial story, then the game would receive a BIG award do you think?

yes, but that would also take a lot more development time then they have had.

#'s 1 and 3 are ARGUABLE, but # 2 makes LOTS of sense!

Smash never really had a story. Adventure mode was KIND OF a story, but  not really much of one.

BTW, I hope that Master Hand, Crazy Hand and Giga Bowser (NOT as Bowser's FS, but how he was in Meelee) returns as bosses!

Heck, I would like playing Master Hand, Crazy Hand, and Giga Bowser all in the same mode and same Difficulty!

I'm amazed that you used that many words to say one thing. Petey is probably the first battle for everybody. How do you think everyone gets their cutscenes?

How in the Hell is Petey the first battle for everybody if Pit's entrance is AFTER Petey is fought?
