So I'm looking to get a laptop. It's actually not going to be used a whole lot, so I'm looking for fairly cheap. OK for gaming, though I'm not going to be playing a ton of games on it, I think I may possibly play a bit though. Decent memory. Good speed. Able to use GIMP and Video Editing Software, as well as basic Microsoft Office type stuff. Touch screen would be cool, but not necessary. I have no idea what to ask for when searching, as I've never had a laptop before. I saw myself almost getting super ultra expensive ones and realized I would probably be throwing my money down the drain as it's useful for things I won't necessarily be using it for. Then I almost got some cheap ones and am thinking I might not be getting enough for what I'm looking for. Looking at reviews doesn't help me much. Please help, it would be most appreciated. Thanks.
define fairly cheap
laptops are mostly poop when it comes to gaming, but without the gaming stuff the rest is easily doable for $600
Just throw suggestions, and if it's too expensive, I'll find a way to insult you. And if you read between the lines of my insult, you will read, "too expensive kind sir, please type another suggestion at a less expensive price if you would be so kind" or something like that.
Lenovo.

Considerable Custom, but I'd prefer on the less pricey side. If you can find something like that, but less expensive (which means it will be slightly worse), then maybe. But I'm still considering the one you mentioned.
Also, Matt, you said a word and it helped with nothing because when I googled it, it led to a website with LOADS Of different ones.
i will find you a new one in the morn

this actually seems like it would be ok
i mean if you're spending under $700 it's not going to work well for gaming
you'll be able to emulate old games just fine and play basic stuff like WoW or LoL but don't expect to play anything current like cs:go or somethin lik ethat

Eh it should be able to play games like CS:GO, TF2, Ducktales, and L4D without an abundance of problems.

At pretty low settings, but you'll still probably get okay framerates.

Framerate shouldn't be an issue at low with those game as they're not really demanding, medium settings sure, but at low it should run fairly smooth for a lower end laptop.
Got a Toshiba.
