Well my current "gaming" computer stinks. I want to build a new super-uber one, but I'll need roughly $800 (I already have a few pieces). I'm good at selling stuff so I should be able to get $500 for my current computer. In a few weeks there will be a Halo 3 tournament near here (already? O_O ). and the cash prize is....$2,500!!! :O :O :O. There will be a ton of people there.
I don't have a XBOX 360. Only one of my friends has one but he doesn't have Halo 3 yet. I was thinking I could sell my computer, buy an XBOX 360, get Halo 3, practice a ton for the next few weeks and win the tournament. Then I would come out ON TOP and have a ton of money and be able to build my uber-gaming computer, and I'd have an XBOX 360 on the side as a "benefit" :D. If I don't win, I would still end up with an XBOX 360, and I could still save a ton of money to build my new computer (or I could sell the XBOX 360. But nah...)
So should I gamble that? Should I do that and hope I win? :D. Even though I'd be selling my computer I'd still have my laptop to do email and such on, just no gaming :D.
Tell me if my idea is good...(oh and I'm not doing this just because I want the money. I actually LIKE Halo so I really want Halo 3 anyways :D)
Odds of you winning the tourney suck, so I'd say don't do it. Just get a 360 or the new comp first, depending on which you want more.

I think I have pretty good odds of winning ;). (if I got a ton of practice). I really need more money than the $500 I'd get from my computer. If I didn't win that tourney there might be other tourneys...:P
Vidiot DONT BE A HERO!!!
jk jk anyway I dont think you should try you might regret it later but...its your choice not mine
i choose bad idea without even reading the topic

that's why I'm going to get the game and practice non-stop for 2 weeks before the tourney starts

don't you have to go to school?
if not, don't you have to work?
if you're unemployed, how do you plan to buy a 360 in the first place?
Sound's like gambling to me. I wouldn't risk it, but if it was for the leisure of playing, heck yeah.

I said I'd sell my current computer (since I have a laptop as well) and use the money to buy a 360.
I'm home-schooled and yes, i have a job.

Where'd you say that?
Halo 3 is much more balanced than Halo 2, although you still don't have much chance of winning.
I don't think you should do it.
If you lose the tourney, sure you have a 360 and Halo 3, BUT WUT ABOUT TEH FOURMS? :(
halo 3 is alot harder to play than halo 2 if you're new to it.
got completely slaughtered by my friends when I was the halo 2 king. :P

I'll still have my laptop ;). I have two computers. Desktop + Laptop
Trust me, there's going to be people at those things who have been playing any Halo game several hours a day since the second it came out.
You're better off just getting a job.

I do have a job but it'll still take me like 3 months to save up enough money for what I want. And anyways, christmas is coming up soon so I'll have to to take all that money and spend it on presents...but yeah I probably don't have a chance of winning. I just thought I could buy it and play it 4 hours a day and have a chance. Guess you guys don't think so....so I guess I won't do it
