Tell your story here. I got mine by chance. I walked in walmart asked an employee if he had any he says no. My brother convinces me to ask another employee they say they have one left I get it and leave lol. Wonder what happened to that employee? :D
I camped out for the first time at like twenty different stores... Good times, good times.
My dad waited in line at Best Buy in the cold for five hours to get mine.

Slothfulness is one of the seven deadly sins, 7Deadly$ins. That sounded ironic... So you sent your dad to do the dirty work for you. Typical.

Nyes, that is indeed true.
In all honesty, I wanted to go and he wouldn't let me. I think I was getting over pneumonia or something..

Camping out is for pansies.
I had my name on a 40+ name list in November and had mine in January with a free pre-order of SSBB!!
Worth the 2 month wait.
I camped out for about 45-60 min and got one
i robbed some lady and her kids for theirs. true story
I made alot of phone calls til I finally found a target store that had 2 left. My husband picked one up and suprised me with it on valentines day.
I was told by someone (who bought two then ebayed them both) that they came into the store on fridays at 11:20.
I skipped part of school that day to pick it up. :D
Called 4 different stores, Sears had one, walked in and bought it.
The kid was like "Don't tell anyone, but I'm not supposed to be selling these. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH."
I had been calling Best Buy for weeks, and time and time again, they've always been "out of stock".
Little did I know they had them the whole time. >.>
One day when my dad was home, I called Best Buy and they said they were out. I told my dad, and he told me to give him the phone.
He asked them himself, thinking they would take him more seriously. They put him on hold.
After a while, he was disconnected. He called again, and got disconnected on again. O_o
He was mad. (Note: My dad can be a pretty intimidating person.)
He called them up. Before the clerk could say "Hello", he demanded to speak to the manager.
He got his number and was told they had 16 Wii's in the backroom. :D
I got my Wii later that day.
^_^
I called Meijer, then called my dad to see if he could go pick it up.

What a ripoff.
Bought a used one at Gamestop. It was only $20 less and came with everything. Remotes were really dirty so I cleaned them. The console works great.

What an inspiring story :*(
Lol!
I wouldn't really say I camped out, a bunch of friends and I went up there early and played all sorts of ds games for hours. I think the first one that got there waited 17 hours. It was all fun though, I'd do it again. Great social experience for mostly anti-social people.
My local Costco were selling them, they only had 20 of them in stock. I got there at about 7:00am and was first in line! Nobody else was there! At least untill later. So after waiting about 1 hour they opened and I got it. Yay me!
Came home from school, went to turn on the TV and my dad gave it too me...
I wrote like 3 papers about it in Writing class....
Twill never forget it.
I went to the store on April 22nd to pick up Pokemon Diamond and they had Wii's in stock that day so I changed my mind and got one.

I got mine for $350. But thats because it came with two games.
I got mine around release date (sometime before Thanksgiving last year, if memory serves) at a target, and picked up Twilight Princess at a Gamestop across the street. I still have the "purchase ticket" the clerk handed out to the people waiting in line.
... no, I got there around six in the morning; I wasn't up for the "sleepover", especially outside a Target. XD
I got mine on the release date by camping out in front of the store for 8 hours and 30 minutes. Long wait, but worth it in the end. Good times, good times...

I sat in a Wal-Mart for 13 hours.
Well, there was this game crazy i went like everyday. and i got my name put on a list, but i still went there everyday to ask where i was on the list. I got to know everyone there, became friends with them. I was the 30th on the list by the way... So one day i went in i knew i was still the 30th person but The manager said come here so i followed him and he asked if i still wanted the we i was like :| YES!!!!!! Then i payed for it and left because they only had 2 in and if the 1st 2nd that where on the list were there i would be beaten so... ya... and know i have not game sbecase i dont want half of them and i beat the rest. I need to open up and give my self a wider selection.
A student of my girlfriends works at the local KMART and he called us as soon as one came in(Jan 2007). I was at work so she had to run over with my checkbook to snach it up...My stupid father-in-law just walked into the store 2 weeks before hand and was lucky enough to get one...I can't tell you how mad that made me
I walked at 10:00 on October thirteenth and got a pre-order; therefore I picked mine up in November at my leisure. ;D
I bought it at a STORE...I think. ::)
I went in to gamestop today right when it opened, waited for the UPS guy to deliver the Wiis then right after that, I bought one.

I went to Target and bought one. Yeah, I know. Very exciting story.
I got mine on January 21st.
After church ended that morning, I decided to give getting a Wii one last chance and went to Target. When i got there, there were a few people in line. I waited about 5 minutes and one of the employees came out and said there were no Wii's coming today.
Then I went to Circuit City next door. No Wii's until 12 pm, and they were only getting 4.
So I drove to the Best Buy acrsss the road and told myself this was the last store I was going to. I walked in and asked the clerk at the front if there were any Wii's. He said there were 2 left supposedly. I ran as fast as I could to the gaming section, and the guy seemed to know I was there for a Wii. "I'll go get it for you, sir." He said, and walked off to the back and came out with a fresh Wii box in a blue bag.
That's how I got my Wii, the last one in my city.

had to do a lot of reserch to let my dad know that we could get one there that day.
My mom got it at Nintendo World, and I found it under the Christmas tree.
Wow, that seems boring...
