I thought it was fake before, but I found a source that looks like a part of nintendo.com:

You have to log in to view the page, I found that you can use "guest" for username and "nintendo" as password.
Oh yeah, it also says that the ESRB rating is "T (Teen): Cartoon Violence, Crude Humor" and has some high quality screenshots -_-

Is this old news?

UGH, not that cover again :P

That cover has been known over 3 months ago...

We don't know if it's real, as far as I'm concerned it's fake, simply because
it's not known on the website.
(though other stores that claim to sell SSBB have that as the box art)
