...and since when was Marluxia considered popular before he knighted?  :P I wasn't even considered popular when I was.  :O

I don't mean "popular" in a community sense, I mean "popular" with the current administrative team. This would be the reason that ol' Compy was Saged, would it not be?

We can talk about the relative competencies of my two...uh...points of reference later.

Can I? Well, moderators lost their rank editing abilities quite a while ago, so no, I couldn't
Would I? (if I could). I most certainly would not as of now, as making such a rash decision may result in some issues. Though don't take it as I think you're not moderative material. :P  Though I may start monitoring you and may consider suggesting it in the future if I see very productive activity. :P

MackorMoses had serious discussion given about his Local Knight position, as for Marluxia...not sure how that came about. :P  However, the staff here does not pick "favorites" and simply give them staff position...if we did, we may be having some of the same troubles that our competetion is facing. :P

I'm guessing that you would be referring to yourself, correct?  First off, that was when Metroid_fan! was still an Administrator and I couldn't quite tell on how things were operating, but I 'd have to say that you did very little moderating at the time, and tried turning moderative/administrative staff positions into popularity contests altogether.

Lest we forget, this is coming from someone who was defending M_F when he went on a warpath. Forgive me if this is an unreasonable inference, but all you've done is creatively adapt so that you held onto your rank.

My position is to serve my members, not the administration (otherwise I'd be an admin :P)...thus you've seen that I've held onto my rank instead of gloat about being a moderator or do nothing more than suck up to every action that the administration makes. (and I did oppose M_F, but I didn't go crazy as the other staff did and start flaming M_F blindly ;))  And I can't say that the members were taking the position as it should have.  Had things been handled correctly, we would've taken care of the situation instead of having to go to the Power On board to control the massive spam and flame wars there.

On the contrary, there was quite a bit that I later attended to after you had been demoted, but I can say that you at least gave it some type of effort. :P And that is much better than some of the other moderators that have been demoted recently.

2. Should I have considered that an insult I would have ensured a punishment for that. However, I do not let things like that bother me. Insulting members not here to defend themselves, however, I consider a problem ie CPU
3. Give Marluxia a chance. Silver, Marluxia, and myself discussed at length before the remodding of him

1. COMPUTERS is, overall, a good member. You have no right to flame him!

I rest my case about this guy's competence as a moderator.

SIV Guys.

No, If a user wins the Question contest they will not be allowed to enter the next month. They would have to wait until the month after the next contest has passed to enter again. Oh, and if I commited suicide, Outsider would be to blame. /emo /Computers

And just for the intercourse ing lulz:

I am leaving NSider. As an early Christmas gift to you all, I give you this post.

Today, we're going to be talking about NSider. To put it simply, NSider sucks. Yes, I know, half of you are going to stop reading right there. Whether your brains simply can't wrap themselves around the concept of NSider not being the "best site ever," or you're simply too blinded by the "fun" you're having to even consider that the site is terrible, I'm sure some of you have already given up and hit the back button in disgust. For the rest of you, let's keep going.

Why, exactly, is NSider terrible? Well, for many reasons. One of the biggest problems would be the lack of decent moderation on the site. Every day I log on to NSider, I get bombarded with a missile. What kind of missile? A missile of stupid. The KOHs simply don't clean up all the stupid that pollutes NSider every single day. Mindless fanboys run rampant, Power On and the other boards are flooded with SPAM and just general idiocy is everywhere. And the KOHs don't lift a finger to clean up all of this crap. Now, I don't want to be unfair to the KOH. There are one or two that are actually decent. Heck, some of them--Cat, GameQber, Muku, etc.--are really nice people. But face it, three or four people, some of whom are married and/or have lives outside of NSider (shocking, I know) can't clean up an entire forum full of crap by themselves. And even then, a few KOH who actually know how to do their jobs--who, unfortunately, aren't that active anymore--hardly outweighs the overwhelming stupidity of the rest of them--not the mention the terrible job that the others do.

But let's move on to a different subject: the NOAs. Oh, yes, the NOAs. I'm sure most of you know what's coming. To get it out of the way, the NOAs are complete and total morons. I can't think of any way to say it that would be more accurate. But one NOA is even stupider than all the rest, and exponentially more infuriating. That NOA is, of course, NOA_Andy. NOA_Andy is a special kind of moron. He's the type that can be hypocritical without realizing it, approve idiotic or ridiculous suggestions with ease, and block out everyone except for those who live to pleasu--I mean, serve--him. The rules he approves and/or creates are likely some of the most terrible ever created. As an example, let's look at the "no external links" rule, one of the most recent. First of all, how stupid is that? No external links? When it comes down to it, the image you use in your sig is an external link. Should we ban sigs, too? Oh, wait, that's happened before. But seriously, think about it. No external links. There must be a pretty good reason behind a rule like that, right? Maybe a gaping security hole that they need time to fix, or the possibility of someone using external links to trick users into handing over their account information? No, no, nothing like that. The real reason we can't have external links is that "there might be inappropriate things on the site." No, I'm not kidding. That's actually the reason. But hold on, it gets worse: "the site might link to a site with inappropriate things." So, let me get this straight: the reason we can't post external links is because a site might link to a site that might link to a site--repeat ad nauseum--that might have inappropriate things on it. Is that not the downright stupidest reason you've ever heard? And even then, that's just one of Andy's horrible rules. I mentioned him being hypocritical before--how about this example? Andy passes a rule that says you can't post an image of a Mii on NSider. Well, take a look at his profile, folks. You see what his icon is? Of course, it's his Mii. NSiders aren't allowed to post Miis--apparently, Andy claims it's a very bad thing to do--and then he puts his own Mii in his icon. The hypocrisy baffles me. The rest of the rules rules are just as bad.

While we're on the topic of special kinds of morons, let's move on to one moron here who's really special: Computers. Computers is so stupid, he gets his own section. Now, there's no way I can do this nearly as well as Alan of JSnake fame, so I highly encourage you all to go and read his Great Computers Flame. There's no better source for learning about Computers and his idiocy. I'll try and live up to this magnificent post--I only hope I can do it justice.

Computers is not your ordinary moron. No, he's a special kind of moron. The special kind that is so incredibly stupid that you can't help but wonder how they managed to survive past the age of two without having stuck a fork into the wall outlet until they died. Computers is the special kind that thought he would need over fifteen edit posts for a thread he made. Fifteen posts. Each post has a 40,000 character limit. That's over 600,000 characters right there. Was Computers planning to write The Great Canadian Novel or something? Oh, and speaking of Canada, let's talk about those boating laws, shall we? Well, a few months ago, our good buddy Computers decided that he would sue YTMND and Outsider "for harassment." He then provided us with the exact law he'd sue us under--code 477.67 of the Canadian Criminal Code. Unfortunately for Computers, section 477 deals with maritime laws. Yes, Computers was threatening to sue YTMND and Outsider with boating laws. Not only that, but "code 477.67" doesn't even exist. In the same conversation, Computers later went on to insist that there were "internet police" watching the entire internet, and that he had enlisted in the Canadian Army. This from the guy who also claimed to be going to the 2008 Olympics as a bicyclist. For the uninformed, he apparently got tired of bicycling a day after he made this important announcement. If you'd like to see his lawsuit threats, you can see them here.

Computers himself has "left" NSider many times. Unfortunately, he's returned just as many times. The most recent incident was on November of this year--Computers said that he was leaving NSider forever. He put a message in his profile saying that he had left forever...and then proceeded to log in every day until he eventually "came back" within a week. Needless to say, I'm sure everyone was dismayed when they heard that Computers had returned. I know I was.

Leaving Computers behind for a moment--a chronicle of his idiocy can be viewed here--I'd like to address another reason why NSider is so terrible: the users. To put it simply and bluntly, nearly each and every one of you are complete and utter morons. That's right. You're all morons. I don't care whether it's the spam on Power On or the stupid Nintendogs "fan fics" (OKAY SINCE YOU WON'T BE QUIET I AM KICKING YOU OUT OF THE HOUSE), the fact remains that the majority of NSider's users are either under the age of 12 or act like it. If I were to spend time addressing exactly why each and every one of you are so stupid, I would need far more than the 40,000 characters this post allows. The only place I find comfort and shelter from this idiocy would have to be Outsider. As Alan himself once said, "the only cool people in this world are the wonderful people at Outsider. They are the reason I wake up every morning."

So, goodbye everyone. I've finally realized that this place utterly sucks--and I've wasted three years being too blind to see it.

Oh, yeah.

Being constructive is not solely supporting another's opinions or ideas; it's coming up with your own. PY is being constructive. He's saying his ideas about what he believes about a "certain" moderator and moderation system, and his profile does say that he tends to be brutally honest...

Deep down, he might be saying what you should not do, as you're supposed to take criticism as advice, but, who knows, as I have no idea what PY is thinking.

Anyways, I'm tired, bored, and want something to do. Which is why I'm here, arguing about whatever just came to the top of my head.

I'll post my grievances here, and I'll link back to what I consider proof. Ask and ye shall recieve, I'm perfectly willing to elaborate on my opinion.

1) Your grammar is atrocious. It is impossible to look professional when it requires effort for me to read your posts.
My evidence: Look through your tracker and tell me that I'm not correct. For a prime example, look at your newcomer guide.

2) Post the exact reason as to why you locked a thread as your lock message; a member shouldn't have to send you a PM just to get a reason as to why you modded one of their threads.
Evidence: Here (http://nsiderforums.net/index.php?topic=4533.0): I completely agree with your decision to lock the thread, however you're being extremely vague as to why you locked it.

3) Don't make it personal. It is not your responsibility to "see that there will be consequences". If someone is abusing the forums, lock the thread, tell them why you've locked it, and if necessary, you may then assign additional consequences. Threats aren't a way to deter rule-breakers.
Evidence: Same post as #2

Hey guys lets sue Nsider 2 over Canadian Boating Laws then leave the forums to go practice the Olympics and come back the next day.

SIV Guys.

No, If a user wins the Question contest they will not be allowed to enter the next month. They would have to wait until the month after the next contest has passed to enter again. Oh, and if I commited suicide, Outsider would be to blame. /emo /Computers

And just for the f***ing lulz:

Well, that explains why everybody hates COMPUTERS......... >_>

I agree, however I would have been happy to have offered evidence should he have asked.

QuoteSecondly, he never stated that it was an insult...Should I have considered that to be an insult....That statement clearly shows that if he considered it to be even if it was criticism because of the way in which you stated it, but he never stated that it was an "insult" and nothing more.
I never said that he thought it was an insult. I said that he was implying that if he thought it was, he would have disciplined me.
I would have reported you, as I said
Quoteactually, you would have been reported. I take all opinions in happily, but you must have some support, as in MAKE IT CONSTRUCTIVE. I fully know the difference, but without criticism it isn't much. I have only been a local knight for three days now. What have I done wrong?

Evidence: Same post as #2
Here (http://nsiderforums.net/index.php?topic=4495.0)

Thank you for getting evidence to back up your criticisms!
I do not see problems with my grammar on said thread, and did you read the bottom? SUGGESTIONS...you can post them!
As for #2 I did leave a lock message, and that user knows they spammed...as they had more than one intro thread, and both were "spammy".
As for taking it personally I will assign warnings in such a nature if I believe they will cause a problem...by spamming the board that I run.

I see your concerns, but this is not the place to discuss them. You have no reason to bring me into question in such a manner, at least not in my opinion. Please carry on in pms, and please, please give suggestions so I can improve my moderation abilities.

It's not the place to discuss them? I have a right to espouse any problems that I see with the forums, including if I believe a moderator is incompetent. I have a right to see if other members agree or disagree with me. And I do have a reason to call you into question if I feel that revoking your status would benefit the community.

I'm not taking the time to highlight the specific problems with your thread. They are there, and anyone can see them quite plainly. I have given you suggestions; you have decided not to take them to heart. You're quite obviously trying to take this to PM because you can see that my points are valid. Until/if you change, I reserve the right to criticize you.

Cheers.
