Title: Who here has a job?
Post by: Ivan_the_Great on October 16, 2007, 03:47:45 PM
I do.
I can only squeez in 20 hours of work every week because of school, football, and debate.
I work at a sushi restaurant called Sushi Nikko.

Job-hunting as we speak.  Who doesn't want to hire a 19 year-old planning to go to college?

I'm at my job right now. I'm serious.

I work 12 hours a week at my local elementary school. I help out with a Community Access Program (C.A.P.) which provides internet access and computers to people in the community cheaply. I basically do odd jobs for my supervisor (emails, forms, promoting the C.A.P.), watch the building and help people with simple computer problems (basic email and internet stuff and printing).

I still can't believe I'm being paid $12 Canadian an hour for the job. When no one needs help I can just use the internet and do homework, and get paid for it. When a job doesn't feel like one you know you're in a good place. ^_^

I don't. And I don't want one.
I get $40 a week for babysitting and that's enough for me. ^_^

I work at a movie theater. Minimum wage plus free movies for me and a few friends, plus private employee only advanced screenings.[allowed to bring 1 guest to those] Plus it's a historic theater, so I guess that's kinda cool too.

You can work because your parents own it....Do they pay you like normal workers or is it more like an allowance?

I work with my dad in our family business. We build copper distillers. I guess I can say my occupation would be metal fabricator/welder.

We also have two other businesses, an upholstery shop and mushroom compost delivery. I don't sew but I can do most of the other work. As for the compost delivery, my dad does all of the driving. Although I can drive semi, I don't want to try driving it in heavy traffic. ;)

Part-time Journalist. Yay.
Actually, I'm rarely focused on my browser most of the time, instead focusing on WordPerfect.

Nothing wrong with that or anything. I'm really only against people my age or around that just lying around bumming off their parents.

I'm a musician for rent xD I'm still kinda working Highschool, so I can't have a full job yet, but I am apparently pretty valuable (My orchestra, apparently, was invited to play at a special clinic just because the person running it had heard of me o-o)

Nope, I don't have one, and I never have, but frankly, I don't know how I could fit it into my schedule. I'd basically have no life... and according to dilbert, engineers suffer from complete social ineptitude anyway. xD

I'm an engineering major, and even just as a freshman, I'm busy. If I get free time I want to relax, not go to work.

I've worked at Penney's for 3 and a half years...I'm a strong proponent of the belief that everyone should have to work in retail for one week during the holiday season to see all of the crap that retail associates have to go through.

I sure can color-coordinate bathrooms and help people pick out luggage now, though. ^_^;
