I heard Guitar Hero 3 will have a storyline, so what will the story be?
I remember hearing that too, I don't know where.
I heard it in a GHIII interview with Flores.
I think it's more into the band's progress, and then finally they have to defeat the devil.
Thank you! ;)

lol yeah
Speaking of GH3 and Tenacious D, one of the songs in GH3 will be "The Metal" which was from that movie.

NO. F**KING. WAY. >_>
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
Anyways, my guesses are that Lou has possesed Morello and Slash and you must defeat him to free them. But that just seems stupid. >_>
Or one of your band mates has had his soul stolen by Lou due to solo record deals and such. Also stupid.
Also, the "Tenacious D Movie" was
Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny.

So close; fixed.
Anyway, I think that after you play Cult of Personality something happens on-stage and your band is killed and sent to Hell. There, you have to beat Lou in a rock-off to free yourselves and be sent back to Earth.

Also, Hell might bring up too many religious arguements.
Assuming you are sent to Hell, I suggest death by special effects, for example, the flare things malfunction and explode.

Yeah, that seems reasonable. Or, Since the last level before Lou's Inferno, is Kaiji megadome, maybe a godzilla-like thing destroys the stage. Or something to that effect.
Umm... yeah. Or you could just be randomly doing a guitar battle against the devil.

or: Devil: You play pretty good guitar son, but just sit back and let me show you how it's done!
Guitar dude: I have a feeling I know what song we're playing......
Well we don't know about how you will get to see against Lou until the game comes out. But maybe your posts about hell are right.
Well, the religious argument thing doesn't really work since we know the devil is there anyway. Also, @ Felldoh: it doesn't matter that it's not rated M. I never said it had to be a bloody, violent, gory death. Maybe the stage collapses and all you see is smoke and then you're in hell. Maybe, as said before, pyrotechnics malfunction, set the stage ablaze, and again, all you see is smoke. There are plenty of ways to have death sequences without any real violence. Even if there was, there's still a threshold as to how much there can be before it earns an M rating.
u all epically phail u sign a contract and u dont know till the end that by signing u sold ur soul to the devil so u have to fite him 4 it...

Yeah you fail.
We have the game now. :|
And back then it wasn't clear.
Alright, here is how iyt goes:
FIRST, You start playing guitar at a random concert, and THEN, after playing some songs, you play guitar at a different concert, and eventually, Tom Morello will come and challange you for some random reason. THEN, you play Bulls on Parade after showing him up. And after playing guitar at a few more concerts, Slash randomly wants to play you, then you play Welcome To The Jungle with him. After that, you play a couple more guitar concerts, and then the devil wants to steal your soul or something. You play Devil Went Down To Gorgia, cream his crop, and then randomly play TTFAF at the end.
Does that do it for ya?
You sell your soul to the devil (it was in the fine print of the contract you sign at the beginning of venue #3) and have to get it back by rocking, end of story.
now here's the co-op career story
you and your band are playing at mith's moose lounge (the order of stages are different in co-op)
when you get a contract. one of the band members says they should get an awesome place with tins of props and stuff. then they go to the video shoot and he's all like huh?
eventually the band members get in a fight and break up, 3 months later at some random party one of the band members approaches the other and points to the stage, Backyard Bash. The put on a show so good they set the house on fire ( the encore sng is cities on flame with rock and roll)
and are sent to shankers island. There someone comes to them with a contract saying that if they put put on a show they can go free. They play the show, and as they are leaving they fal through the ground to Lou's Inferno
Apparently, no one else realizes this was back from early-mid October, before the game was released. xD

I did so I can unlock new songs such as Cities on flame with rock and roll.
da story is your just a band going around getting gigs, then you sign a contract and you later find out it was the devils contract, and you accidently sold your soul, so you have to boss batlle him with the song the devil went down to georgia after you win you play through the fire and flames in the credits
