Capcom has finally confirmed persistent rumours that Okami is coming to Nintendo Wii, telling a London audience this week that the game will arrive on our screens in spring 2008.
Celebrated on PS2 for its absorbing puzzle and action adventure mechanics, gripping narrative inspired by Japanese folklore and beautiful watercolour visuals, its rebirth on Wii has been much hyped.
The game also lends itself rather well to the potential of Nintendo's Wiimote for control. Amaterasu's Celestial Brush - a paintbrush used in combat and for solving puzzles - is a perfect fit for the Wiimote, and so it proves, while combat will also include various "motion-controlled physical attacks".

S-seriously? Okami for the Wii? Really? That's awesome! ...I can't check the link yet, so I hope you're not pulling my leg here...
It doesn't seem to be an "official" official announcement yet, just something that Capcom have told press in London.
That's still awesome, I really hope it's true. I'd buy it even if was just a port.
I've never played the first Okami. I've only heard of the name. I know a lot about Capcom but not when it comes to Okami.
You should look into it, it's a really creative and innovative (and beautiful) game.
okawii? for cereal?
Yeah, it's officially confirmed now. Ready at Dawn is the developer that's doing the port.
I wonder if they'll throw anything extra in. Hm. *shrug* The brushstrokes are going to be awesome. ^.^
