This is a rumor saying that the Wii Animal Crossing will be an MMO. :-\  I honestly don't understand how an MMO could exist with Friend codes..... But I do want this rumor to be true. :)

that'd be pretty cool, providing they pulled it off right (as in not having seperate towns, but maybe having seperate apartment blocks, a global economy, and jobs).

I'm more looking forward to a Star Wars MMO.

They've already got MapleStory on DS, though it's not slated for a US release.

Doubt this would ever work. Compared to the other systems, the Wii isn't as advanced. Also, I doubt a console system like this has enough RAM to constantly load all the players on a single screen. There'd be too much lag. Maybe a console MMO could work for the PS3 or 360. They've got good processors and internal hard drives.

No, they are considered MMOGs (massive multiplayer online game) in my opinion.

WoW is an MMO. Mariokart isn't an MMO. You have to be able to play with someone at all times. :robotwink:

any online game is an MMOG.

Runescape, Maplestory, WoW, EVE, LOTR, etc. are MMORPGs.

Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games.

Massively Multiplayer.
Can you honestly say that four player racing in Mario Kart is "massive"?
At most, the Wi-Fi games are Multiplayer Online Games.

I thought that Maplestory DS comes out the same day worldwide?

in their opinion, lots of people playing at the same time = massive.  doesn't matter if they're playing in the same game.

Here's a definition:
Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massively_multiplayerMassively multiplayer online game (also called MMOG or simply MMO) is a computer game which is capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of players simultaneously. By necessity, they are played on the Internet, and feature at least one persistent world.
