Like I heard Metroid Prime has a gaming engine for flawless (sorta) loading times...
Or something like that.
Is it just reused script for some games? Or is that just part of it? Does it execute the commands?
I is a computer noob -.- at least, a noob for my age (13 >.<)
It's the basic way the game operates. The controls, the HUD, and the physics. :robothappy:
What ever runs the game idk. All i know some times programers take old engins and renew them for new systems so it takes them less time.
ololo Metroid Prime's engine is flawless in loading times?
It secretly loads as you go through looong tunnels. It's clever game design.

I lol'd when I got to MP3, and got stuck too darn much because the game didn't like my pace. ^_^

There's the answer... Not many consoles reuse engines because engines are basically the only thing you can update on a console.
Take a look at Half life... Everything Valve makes runs off of the half life engine, what they call mods... Orange box consists of Half life 2, portals (a half life 2 mod), and TF2 (half life 2 mod)... Counter Strike Source is also a half life 2 mod. All using the games basic motor skills but with different skins and scripts making the games completely different.

A little off there.
For one, the "Half-Life engine" as of after HL2 is the Source engine. Portal is its own separate game made with Source. Same with TF2.
Counter-Strike: Source is also its own game made with Source, updated from the original Half-Life mod.

Me too. I doubt it is flawless, I hate waiting 45 seconds for a door to load.

Haha, whoops. Half-Life 2 is its own game, and so are Portal and Team Fortress 2. They all run on the Source graphics engine, and I know at least H-L2 uses a modified version of the Havok physics engine. The others probably do also.

I put the pwnage in the Metroid.
I am pretty good at metroid, got 100% hard on prime, which 3D was quite weird to me.
the doors in the original MP rarely take more than two seconds to open.
it slows down, but very, very rarely.

Except Metroid has been known for it's ease of speed-running since... Hm, the original.
