Do not worry. EJ has been working on a new board set up for the index. The redesign won't really look like Nsider anymore, but it will still have all the boards. It is going to save 300 a month on the server. I'm sure the site will be back up sometime today.

That would depend if you like the portal system or not. The outset is going to look something similar to GaiaOnline but all in a line up down a middle collum(sp?). It looks a lot better then it sounds. There will be side bars that will relay important messages and such.

There are enough threads being posted about Nsider2 and the issue. But I'll repeat myself again.
EJ is working on the new portal layout which will save him money. Also he is upgrading the server so all the information has to be transfered over. I do not know when it will be back up, but your account and information will be intact.

Not sure what a portal system looks like, and I don't feel like joining Gaia to see what it looks like. :P Hopefully it'll be as sleek and easy to access as NSider and NSider2 were. Also...about profiles. Would this new server allow us the same features as our profiles back on NSider2 did? I particularly liked how we were able to view who had viewed our profiles, as well as the comments section. If those came back, that'd be nice. I just hope it keeps everything intact somehow, and that it feels like the forums we're used to. Still, whatever we get I'll be happy with. :) After all, EJ is nice enough to be footing the bill for all of this....which is seriously insane.

I'm not a huge fan of it, but it was either this or switch to something completely new. I'm hoping that our ads and when we get the donation set up it we will make enough to go back to what we love.
At first I didn't really like this set up, but I got use to it. It's just seems to jam packed since the categories aren't really divided. Also the skin seems rather flat and basic. Yet it's not really about the look. I think it's the forum itself and the community. So I could really careless where I'm at as long as I have my friends :P

Yeah I didn't really look around here yet. Just joined and started posting LOL. I'm really slow when it comes to looking at features. When I registered on Nsider 4/2003 I didn't change or even look at the skins till come time the end of 2004 XD

I'm not sure if people are aware of this by now, though they already may be. However, just for those who aren't aware, I am posting this notice here directly from NSider2. It is a notice by EJ letting everyone know of the temporary closure, and he also states when the forums should be back up (which is in bold print). Here is what he had to say:
"NSider2 is currently moving to a new, fast server, this will take about 8 hours.
Really sorry for the no-notice notice, Nintendo NSider-style close surprise!
The move is necessary and we promise a much faster browsing experience at the new server.
We will return tomorrow Tuesday at 6:00 am PST."

Still, you have to think about how much hard work EJ puts into the community and the site itself, so it may have taken him longer than expected. Perhaps something went a bit awry and needed to be addressed. That's always possible, and we have to remember that no one is perfect. In due time, I'm sure EJ will have everything up and running. ;)
Until then, we'll just have to keep checking out the site for any updates.

It appears that a new update has come from EJ. He has replaced "Tuesday" with "Wednesday" in his notice for temporarily closing the forums. It's apparently still due to the "server transfer", so he must have underestimated the time it would take him.
